Another Pit Bull Nightmare, This Time In Baltimore Area

August 20th, 2008

The breed’s public relations problem seems justifiable.
It’s no wonder the pit bull has a PR problem. All it takes is two vicious attacks in less than two weeks against small children to bolster arguments that the breed is a dangerous monster with no place in a community setting. On Tuesday, James Hendrix, peered into his neighbor’s yard just in time to witness a large pit bull ripping a toddler’s scalp from his head. Got to BET.com/News for more on this story.

I’m gonna respond to your immature comment because i’m eating lunch and have free time right now. A) get an education, and a good job…both are beautiful things. B) When did i say or even imply that i love dogs more than people? READING COMPREHENSION!! Try having an intelligent discussion…it’s fun.

People have to realize these dogs are what people make them. I have 3 pit bulls and they LOVE people especially kids. What people dont realize is that these dogs need constant training starting from a young age. That saying old dogs cant learn new tricks…..not true my newest dog is 3 and he is being trained just because I am a responsible pit bull owner. People get these dogs not knowing how much work it takes for them to be good pets.

It should be remembered that animals have natural instincts and should be suprivised at all times if there is a child in the mix. But my view is (perhaps generalizing) that as with humans these pits are a product of there enviroment. Take note that one of M. Vick’s rescued pitbulls recently recvd a good citizen award! When not subjected to certain surroundings his demeanor changed. These animals don’t have a voice of their own like many say our poor dont so be that change you want to see in the world and do something to help not just condemn!

Pitbulls = ghetto dog

People WAKE UP!! They are dogs!! Not nothing more or nothing less. If you look at the statistics you will see that pitbulls are not the number one dog that bites people they just cause alot of damage when you they do bite. I have 4 pitbulls and none of them haven’t bit anyone. They will bite but being a responsible owner i dont put them in situations that they will bite someone. Quit listen to the media and understand that they are dogs!!!!

I HAVE AN EXCELLENT EDUCATION AND A VERY GOOD JOB, STOP ASSUMING THAT YOU KNOW THE PEOPLE ON THESE BLOGS. THAT’S YOUR SECOND MISTAKE., YOUR FIRST MISTAKE IS BEING ON THIS PARTICULAR BLOG GIVING INSIGNIFICANT AND OFTEN RACIST ADVICE. YOUR ALWAYS ASSUMINGTHAT YOUR SMARTER AND WEALTHIER THAN OTHER PEOPLE SHOWS YOUR RACISM BECAUSE YOU THINK EVERYONE BLACK IS BENEATH YOU. ACCORDING TO YOU BLACKS ARE LAZY AND UNEDUCATED AND RACISM HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING. IT’S JUST DEFLECTING BLAME, DODGING RESPONSIBILITY. YOUR A JOKE UMLAW AND YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW IT!!!

My husband and I recently got a pitbull puppy who is almost 4 months old. I can say from actually having one for the first time, its all about how you raise the dog. People read these stories and jump to conclusions. Any dog can get out of control, but since these breeds are more likely to be strong and aggressive, the owners are the ones who are in charge. All in all, taking better preventative measures can reduce the instances of incidents like these from occuring. Dogs need to be socialized properly, however at the same time are not supposed to have access to just come into contact with people at free will.

the problem is that umlaw thinks black people are stupid and that we need him to save us from ourselves. it makes him feel better about his shortcomings to always put us down. when one of us bites back at his racist remarks look at how he always responds; he insults our education, employment or overall lifestyle. he’s not holding us accountable he’s feeding his own ego and arrogance. he only responds to articles that provide him an opportunity to preach to us about RESPONSIBILITY, EDUCATION, DEFLECTING BLAME, BIAS, BLACK CRIMINALS AND ACCOUNTABILITY. notice he never responds to any of the positive articles. he even turns the focus of non-inflammatory blogs into race arguments so that he can preach his twisted lies about blacks. we don’t need him here guys, HE NEEDS US, BET blogs swells his chest and makes him feel better. he’s also using us to practice his arguing skills. you know he claims to be a law student too. and if that’s true don’t we already know what kind of lawyer he’ll be?

i like dogs but pit bulls need to be banned…i’m scared to let my kid play outside because someone’s pit bull might be on the loose.

These dogs are OBVIOUSLY

D. Alexander Said on

These dogs are OBVIOUSLY VERY, VERY DANGEROUS the powers that be should ban these dogs and not let anyone have them as pets. Put them all in a zoo someplace or send them to another land.

I must agree with Kristy about the pit bull breed, I too own one and she is as gentle as a baby lamb , she loves kids and she even loves cats. Therefore one should not place every dog in the same catagory.

seschris Said on

A very large percentage of dog attacking humans incidents involve either animals in the pitbull or rottweiller family. Whatever the reason pitbulls are banned and actually have legal ordinances against them in many countries not to mention states within the US. I like dog’s but I make it a habit not to mess with strange dogs because you never know how they are trained to deal with strangers.

They don't talk if there day is bad, do they? Said on

Some dogs have been raised in a decent manner, but by nature they all snap at some point in their lives. It does not have to be a pit, it can be a beagle, poodle, collie, german shep, it does not matter. DOG OWNERS MUST KEEP A CLOSE WATCH ON YOUR FRIEND OR FAMILY PET!

J. Said on

I to own 4 pitbulls and they are the most loving animals I have ever seen. It all depends on how they are raised as many other people have said!!!!! Any animal that is neglected or mistreated or trained to attack is going to do so. These people that say they should be banned are nuts. What about like someone else said the other breeds you NEVER hear anything about them biting someone and I”m sure there are a hell of a lot of them, but as soon as someone gets bit by a PITBULL it’s all in the NEWS!!! Which is wrong! As many others have said you have to be a responsible DOG OWNER!!! I have a grandson who is 1 1/2 and they all play together they love him to death and would NEVER do anything to hurt him. The person that said they are OBVIOSULY VERY VERY DANGEROUS and need to be put in a zoo how about putting you in a zoo or the looney bin you have NO IDEA what you are talking about. IT MAKES ME SOOOOO MAD THESE PEOPLE THAT COMMENT ONLY ON WHAT THEY HEAR, BE AROUND A FEW THAT HAVE BEEN WELL TRAINED NOT MISTREATED OR USED TO FIGHT AND THEN SEE WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY.!!!!

typee0 Said on

I totally agree with the last commentor, I have owned 2 pitbull breeds. Before getting the first dog I would have no part with them. As with anything you have to obtain knowledge first. Then follow through in training the animal. I would take precaution if children were in the picture. Fault the owners and not the pet. The US can not control all the illegal immigrants so banning a particular breed would not come to fruition.

myopinion Said on

They are vicious animals and need to be destroyed.

WAKEUP Said on

It might be a good idea to keep pit bulls around, especially in the hood and middle class areas. We’ll need them as a means to fight when the sH_t hits the fan. We live in a police state and the black community is a testing ground for them when they take it all. All people will be effected by this coming crisis and Obama will save only the ELITE! There are trillionaires and if you’re not one of them, then don’t consider your self as such.

They have dogs to attack us, and we shall have dogs to attack them as well. This is another media ploy to hand over our defenses. Every time there’s a shooting, we should hand over our guns, the same with pit bulls. It’s the owners responsibility to keep the dog away from potential attacks. Punish the owner and the dog (in this case), but don’t use the blanket effect and punish all pit bulls. Wake up black America, we’re in a world of trouble.
