Bernie Mac Is Alive, Recovering From Pneumonia
August 4th, 2008Rumors of the comedian’s death shock and frighten fans.
Both Bernie Mac’s publicist and his wife are refuting rumors that the popular comedian died this past weekend. Mac was hospitalized and recovering from pneumonia late last week, publicist Danica Smith told The Chicago Sun-Times. By Saturday, fans in Mac’s native Chicago and those browsing Web sites throughout the country were expressing sadness and posting tributes to the “late” Kings of Comedy alum. It appears that a hoax involving calls to various TV newsrooms led to the scare and caused at least one Chicago network affiliate to scroll the news across the screens of its viewers’ sets at home. “It is a very horrible rumor,” Smith says. “It is absolutely untrue.” Mac’s condition was, in fact, improving, Smith adds: “He’s doing great and hopes to get out soon. Sorry to hear the sadness. Bernie was and still is a great inspiration to young teenagers. There are a lot of teens in my neighborhood and surrounding hoods who always made time to sit quietly and watch “The Bernie Mac Show”. I will sorely miss the late but great Bernie Mac.
May the Lord of heaven and earth keep you in all your ways and know that God is totally on the throne and that He and He along will take care of you. Bernie’s in a better place, still telling jokes but telling the truth.
It really sadden me to hear about the lost of bernie Mac….I have to say he really knows how to make a person laugh n their saddest hour…thank you so much for the years I have followed you and your shows….

This brings sadness to my heart. To the Mac Family, I will keep you in my prayers and know that GOD is with you. Bernie was a wonderful entertainer/actor I enjoyed everything he done. He brought laughter and joy to my life. He will be missed more than he would ever know. He was like a family member to me and my family.

My heart goes out to the Mack family. When I seen the news flash across b.e t , I was devastated. I to loved watching Bernie, there was no comedian as good as him. It does ease my heart that he doesn”t have to suffer no more.God is welcoming home one of his finest angels. We love you Bernie.
