Bernie Mac Is Alive, Recovering From Pneumonia
August 4th, 2008Rumors of the comedian’s death shock and frighten fans.
Both Bernie Mac’s publicist and his wife are refuting rumors that the popular comedian died this past weekend. Mac was hospitalized and recovering from pneumonia late last week, publicist Danica Smith told The Chicago Sun-Times. By Saturday, fans in Mac’s native Chicago and those browsing Web sites throughout the country were expressing sadness and posting tributes to the “late” Kings of Comedy alum. It appears that a hoax involving calls to various TV newsrooms led to the scare and caused at least one Chicago network affiliate to scroll the news across the screens of its viewers’ sets at home. “It is a very horrible rumor,” Smith says. “It is absolutely untrue.” Mac’s condition was, in fact, improving, Smith adds: “He’s doing great and hopes to get out soon. I for one and surely countless others are appalled at the vicious rumor that Bernie Mac had died. Shame on who or whomever started it. bernie i am so happy that you are ok when my friend called me 2nite and said other wise i hung up on him and logged on to bet now i feel better knowing tat it was untrue i pray that this finds u in the best of health and your wife just remember that god can do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we can ask or think according to the power that worketh in us mr mac that simply means its according to your faith that u r healed but i am in agreement with u that u r because gods word also says where 2 or more touch and agree it shall be done god bless you mr mac
I pray that God bless ,heal and keep you as well as your family. Bernie reminds me so much of my uncle and all his mannerisms. The dirty south will keep you in our prayers.
