Beyonce Rocks Fashion Rocks in New York
September 6th, 2008
Beyonce killed it last night back on stage for the first time since her marriage to rapper Jay-Z. Performing at the 5th Annual Fashion Rocks concert at Radio City Music Hall in New York, she sang legendary R&B singer Etta James’ hit song “At Last” and gave audiences a preview of her role as James in the upcoming movie “Cadillac Records.” She donned a costume from the flick, got into character (short blonde wig and all) and took a few minutes to give tribute to James, who was also in the audience and rocked the house with two other performances, one a Marvin Gaye-Tammi Terrel duet with Justin Timberlake. Mariah Carey, , Rihanna, Mary J. Blige, Fergie and others also performed. The 5th Annual Fashion Rocks concert airs Tuesday, September 9th at 9 p.m. on CBS.

B’S MY GIRL, OR SHOULD I SAY MRS. J-Z , KEEP DOING WHAT U KNOW BEST. YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bro Jay.
There you go with a ridiculous comment again. First off, you need to learn how to write. No wonder you’re making minimum wage…how can you get a good job writing like a 4th grader.
I was at the show in NYC…they were all amazing. If anything, JT was honoring Marvin by performing his music. Everything is not about race…some (like you) always make it that way. There will be no equality with that kind of mentality. Change your way of thinking.
Unfortunately we are all forgetting the bigger picture here. Jay Z and Beyonce are both getting paid to entertain the general public. All of the negative comments are just plain ole funny to read. I mean who really knows anything about Beyone (the woman, sister or daughter) or Jay Z (the husband, brother or son). They show the general public the image they want you to see. We are making them rich because some of us really enjoy and support the image that sells. I say KUDOS to the two young black entertainers. Who are you to judge if they are talent-less…and role models…PLEASE. If more individuals worry less about the singers and rappers being our Young People role models and put more emphasis being role models of our own children, sisters or brothers, the world would be so much more meaningful.
So Go Beyonce…Do Your THING….. And I love ETTA JAMES…..
this is so cutee i thouqht she cut her hair but yheaa love u beyoncee.
add myspacee… http://www.myspace.com/charnequanicole
AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE?????? WASNT BEYONCE PREGNANT AND DUE NEXT MONTH TO BE EXACT????? DID SHE HAVE AN ABORTION OR A MISCARRAGE??????? WHAT’S UP HERE?????
I see you believe everything you read Santana. Lol. Beyonce was never pregnant. According 2 the tabloids she will be pregnant every other week. “Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear.” – Jay Z
Congratulations again Beyonce!!!
You Go Girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I REALLY hope B has the vocals to carry off an Etta James song! I would have much preferred someone in the genre of jazz or someone known for some strong vocals. The song “At Last” requires some long notes to hold on to. I think Jill Scott would have been more appropriate but good luck to Beyonce. I hope she does well and kudos to her for getting out there and being versatile. Esaduva- Yes she did do alot of booty shaking early in her career but she is maturing (thank God). She is coming into her own with her clothing and style (I don’t see pics of her in jeans with the top of her butt hanging out anymore for example). And its not because of more $$.
Oh and Justin singing a Marvin Gaye tune on stage-totally unacceptable!!!
There are too many real soul singers that could have done Marvin justice! Musiq, Raheem Devaughn even D’Angelo and some others. Heck, Jon B could have done better in my opinion. Stay with “pop” and leave the real soul R&B alone Justin.
Orlandoblkman, this is true, and there are many others, every time someone throws up the roc symbol they are supporting satan and his illuminati clan, young people wake up, do your research, will you sacrifice your baby to become one of them, beyonce did, research research people! Do your homework!!! Don’t fall victim to their mind control!!
Hi all yea thats my girl also and i’m proud…but yes i thought she was pregnant…so she is not having a baby?
spreading the word plzzz shutup beyonce was never pregant while you spredin the word you need 2 research your facts and find out what tthe hell your talking about b4 yu start talking thnxx
The woman has talent galore! So what if she showed her body too much in the beginning, u would have too in order to get her success today. Omg, stop hating! She has reached her american dream, what about u? She is an entertainer and she does her JOB well. She’s smart, pretty, talented, and wealthy. BEYONCE rocks and i love her as an artist. Get on her level or beyond.
she is a good. and i am happy that people like her the way she is. she is a good singer. and i hope that she will find someone good in her life that will lover her the way she is.
I agree with Bro. Jay on September 6th. As classy and stylish as Beyonce is and I’m sure she’s going to be absolutely fabulous in her upcoming role, you mean to tell me she couldn’t find anyone else to do a “Marvin Gaye-Tammi Terrell” duet with other than Justin Timberlake?!! Is he the only young dude out there?! I think Usher would have done a fabulous job or even Ne-yo or Chris Brown for that matter. I see NO comparison b/t JT and the late, great Marvin Gaye!!! But to each his/her own.
Still much love and props Ms B!
I hope she did not have a late term abortion. I knew a girl that told everybody at work that she was going to do that and you could see was showing. It was horrible and sad. I told her I would keep the baby if she let it live, she said no and just wanted to move away with her new man to Virginia. Knowing what they do to babies during a partial birth abortion for late term is sickening. I hope she did not do such a thing.
WHERE IS RIHANNA @ YO .. TIRED OF B LMAO … WHERE THE KUTE CHICK WITH STYLE MS. RI-RI WE W8TN 4 U MA ..LOVED UR HIT DISTURBIA SO CLASSY MA AN YET SEXY U GO GRL HEARD U DID UR THING @ THE SHOW ALSO….B U KOOL MAMA CAN NOT PLEASE EVERYONE THO….. CONGRATS
Everybody is always worried about what these stars are doing with lives, when they should be concentrating on theirselves. You are not god, what place is it of yours to try and judge someone. You should worry about your own dirty secrets. Good job, b.
Beyonce is just a living example of raw talent, unlike that girl Rihanna. So all u ppl talking abt how B and Rihanna r on the same level, think again. I’m from the caribbean, i’ve seen Rihanna, and she’s NOWHERE as humble and grounded as B is. Rihanna shunns off ppl like they’re peasants. B is very humble and does all that she can, and unlike Rihanna, she has TALENT. And her success is not based off of copying sum1 else’s originality. So you go B!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can’t wait for the new album. It’s gonna make every1 forget abt that Rihanna girl
