Black lawmaker apologizes to Sarah Palin.
Florida Democrat Alcee Hastings, a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, says he regrets his verbal slap-down of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin last week when he essentially called her a redneck and a racist in the same breath. Speaking to a group of Blacks and Jews, the lawmaker quipped, “If Sarah Palin isn’t enough of a reason for you to get over whatever your problem is with Barack Obama, then you damn well had better pay attention,” Hastings said. “Anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and Blacks. So, you just think this through.” In a statement he released Tuesday, Hastings said, “I regret the comments I made last Tuesday that were not smart and certainly not relevant to hunters or sportsmen.” Hastings was addressing the National Jewish Democratic Council where he was urging those in attendance to support Obama over Palin. Of course it was just the kind of comment to evoke the rage of the Republican Party. Matt Brooks, who is executive director of the Republican Jewish Coalition, said Hastings “stooped to the worst kind of divisive politics. There should be no place in our country for this sort of political discourse. We can constructively disagree on the issues without denigrating others.” But Hastings didn’t completely back down from his earlier comments. “The point I made, and will continue to make, is that the policies and priorities of a McCain-Palin administration would be anathema to most African Americans and Jews,” he said in his statement. “I regret that I was not clearer and apologize to Governor Palin, my host where I was speaking, and those who my comments may have offended.”
He said to “just think this through” about Palin…apparently we need to do just that when it’s his turn at re-election. What an ignorant S.O.B…. It disgusts me just to LOOK at this moron’s picture….
Stop apologizing for things that are said. You obvious was feeling a certain way or you would not have said it. Say whay you mean & mean WTF you say!!

I know he spoke what most think. This woman is really scary She can’t even name a newspaper that she has read in all this time in office as mayor or governor. Right now they are talking about pulling our Rev. Wright and Sen. Obama’s middle name to throw at him from McCain. Barely any news caster talked about the healing and praying in Palin’s church. She is out of her league and she doesn’t even seem to know it. I mean she just talks and talks with no sense to what she is saying. Then she hears the line “gotcha politics” and now she is yelling that. This woman is in real bad shape and nothing is so dangerous as one who does not know that they don’t know. Ingredient for disaster. Please remember to register and vote. Our very lives are at stake. They have finally found the weapon of mass destruction……sarah palin.

Alcee Hastings was truly ignorant. It was utterly disgraceful and brought discredit to his office. I trust that those who he spoke to, and that would include the most ardent Obama supporters, could see the inexcusable stupidity in the way that he tried to accuse Gov.Palin of being both rascist and anti-semetic

Okay, Okay he wasn’t speaking “Politically Correct.” However, let’s get down to the heart of the matter, racism is live and well in America. Racism is live and well in the Republican Party. Someone needs to address these issues and I think the only way African Americans are going to get the acknowldgement they deserve is if the “TRUTH BE TOLD.” If it’s a spade call it a spade, however “politically” some have to be more careful in the way they get their views across.
Women of the world, black, white, hispanic, etc. Don’t let the simple fact that Sarah Pallin’s a woman FOOL you! She has shown herself to be a COMPULSIVE LIAR! Trust and believe if you are a black woman, you have all the more reason NOT to give her your consent. Shes a “CLOSET WHITE SURPREMISIST.” That’s what I believe. One thing for sure and two things for certain, At least Mr.Hasting had the nerve to say what he truley feels. The republicans don’t have the nerve to do the same, they like to make racist comments beneath sarcasim.
How about the remarks that were made during the Republican Convention?
You know, the round about ones made about “Lessoning Barak Obamas HISTORY MAKING MOMENT? Oh yes, comments congragulating Mr.Obama on his HISTORIC ACHIEVEMENT and in the next breath, lessoning his Historic Moment, with sarcasim and Sarah Pallin. That’s when I knew his motive.
Everyone seems to think that the reason McCain wanted Pallin for his ticket was for the votes of woman. No my friends the motive behind it was so much more. If you noticed he didn’t make his decission until after Barak Obama’s acceptance speech. Which clearly was the most breath taking, tear jerking moment at my age, I had yet to be blessed to experience.
John McCain picked Sarah Pallin because you simply CANNOT compete with a historical moment like Barak Obamas. Being a woman and not lessoning what us woman are capable of, Sarah Pallin cannot compete with the history Barak Obama has made. You simply CANNOT compare Gender making histoy to A CULTURE MAKING HISTORY.
I plead my case.
OH, AND IF I HEAR JOHN MCCAIN, TAKE ONE MORE WORD RIGHT OUT OF BARAK OBAMAS MOUTH, I THINK I’M GOING TO REGERGITATE!

Okay, Mr.Hasting words were not “Politically Correct.” Perhaps he should have sugar coated his views on reality for the sake of harsh critisim of “Closet White Surpremist.” No, however he should take caution when he speaks with certain persons in his profession for the sake of his career. Oh, how I am at shame for my roots. God has truley blessed me, not to be a part of that inhumane, saddend, racist world. If only some white folks knew what they were missing. Anyhow, anyone with common sense knows he spoke “THE TRUTH.” And if the TRUTH BE TOLD, how about we address the RACIST REMARKS made at the REPUBLICAN convention? Perhaps i’m one of few who caught that. That would be because unlike Mr. Hasting, the republicans beat around the bush, when it comes to their sarcasim hidden, racist remarks! Mr.Hasting not speaking with racism simply stated the truth, At least he can do so directly.
At John McCains convention he and two Senetors speaking on McCains behalf made light of Mr. Barak Obama’s HITSORY MAKING MOMENT, inwhich lessoning All African Americans. All three persons, congragulated Mr. Obama for his HISTORICAL MOMENT, and then followed was sarcasim and Sarah Pallin, subsiding Barak Obama’s history and bringing their own history into the picture. This is when I realized McCain’s motive for selecting Sarah Pallin for his ticket. Everyone seems to think McCain wanted Pallin for female voters, no my friends it’s much more than that! I believe that in John McCain’s convention he and his Representatives made it crystal clear that the reason he chose Pallin, was because he simply could NOT compete with a HISTORICAL MOMENT, so he had to make history on his own ticket. His own words defeated him with my theory and futhermore his words about how he was going to go about selecting his V.P. spoke in volume! He went against everything he said! Please Note: He selected Sarah Pallin after Mr. Barak Obama’s acceptance speech. Hello!

You guys need to keep your eye on the goal. The goal is to elect the right persons. It would be nice if that were true. I hope you have read the post that says not to wear items that have Obama on them. We can be challenged and not allowed to vote. Another item is that we have seen them steal the votes for the last eight years, this year is going to be worst. They have a master plan and one is to make sure that a balance isn’t in effect any longer. Education, homes, jobs, the things that have made progress, are going to go back 50 years and the powers that be, are going to make this happen. Those who let them talk them into buying things that they know that they couldn’t afford, it was done on purpose, now it is being blamed on all lthe Blacks.
