It is unfortunate that this situation went down like that but why did that boy have to get shot in the face. That was intent to kill not just harm.

First of all, I dont think that White wanted to kill the boy just protecting his home. I thought that it was funny what the father said about the White’s sentence. To my knowledge, this is the first time a black man in a shooting has gotten this type of sentence—May God bless the Judge for the ruling. Give me a break with the race deal because if it was reverse it would have been the same thing or even less.

They ought to be ashamed for sending that black man to jail for protecting is son and family. If somebody come to my doorstep with that mess and I don’t care who they are or what race they are you best believe they gonna be duckin hot ones!

I don’t think Mr. White should have gotten any time, that’s straight bullsh–. If it would have been vice versa the whit man wouldn’t have gotten any time but that’s how america is white is always right. I hate it for the white kid but he should have thought about going to somebody’s house in the middle of the night,none of this would have never happened.

I do feel that the man was wrong for shooting and killing the young man. So he should have gotten sometime for killing the young man, but at the same time have come to his house in the middle of the night demanding that his son come outside to possible fight them because they felt that he had disrespected their female friend.Yes he should have gotten some time because when you kill some one the courts say that,that is murdered.

you know life is funny and we never know when it will change it’s course on us. no matter what we must remain as human as we possibly can during any endeavor we’re faced with. our ultimate challenge is to live according to ten commandments set forth by GOD, but who can judge when if we feel we are right that we are wrong. i know this situation was forced upon this man. he would have never shot this young man if they had not come to his home. they wouldn’t have come to his home if there wasn’t some other problem neede handling. my point is somethins so small as a few words can lead to the death of a human as well as the imprisonment of another. we are living revelations people do we not see it for ourselves……

It’s a shame that man had to get 2 years. He was protecting his family and them c$#@#$*s came to his home. To me they got what they derserved!!!!

I think Justice was partly served, I think White should of received probation unless the article failed to mention prior convictions. If the shoes were on the other foot they probaly would of been found not guilty. Anyway, I think he was doing the right thing by protecting his family and property. Any time you step in anyones driveway dosen’t matter what color or race you are you can be of the same race to confront or harm someone then you should know the risk,On the other side which is you might lose the fight well in this case thats what happened I think his freinds should of also been charged for his murder because if it wasen’t for them participating then thier freind would be alive they are just as much responsible as White.I also disagree that this was racially motivated by White I think it was racially motivated by the white kids who came to his houes will America ever change or do black people have to die to be in peace!

I’m with you Ms.Garcia 100 percent white people have been gettin away with murder for CENTURIES in this country so his father has all the nerve in the world. Unless he wants to be reminded of Amadou Diallo,Sean Bell,Malice Green,Yusef Hawkins,Robert Russ,Emmitt Till, and countless other young black males that have died at the hands of police or angry mobs. I think that he was wrong. But why did he have a gun in the first place? Yes he has a rgiht to protecting his family, but also he killed somebody else family member. he had no right to kill that boy like that beause people say mean stuff all day, but thatdon’t give you a right to go out and kill? that a part of life.

I believe that he did what any parent would have done if a group of individuals came to harm your child. I believe that he did not intend for the gun to go off. In my opinion, I believe that the father of the victim should have charges pressed against him for communicating threats. This world is just unfair. I believe he may have should of called the police to his home, but at time like that your mind goes blank and your first instinct is to protect your family and your property at all cost.

So… if he had not killed the boy or answered the door then what? They claimed the mob was upset. So if the 17 year-old did harm to the family of property, then what? Would we then be reading a report on dead black boy or family. I am sorry that the 17 year-old died, but where was his parents when he was “mobbin” trying to pull a child out of a grown man’s house? If she was so disrespected then why didn’t the 17 year old & the young lady call the police?
