My question to you Alan, did you all ask Arnold Schwarzenegger to prove his citizenship when he ran for Governor, if my memory serves me correctly he was born in Austria, and came to the states in 1983, but I forgot he is a Republican as well. I am a white man. I have a picture of Martin Luther King on my desk, to remind me to judge people on the content of their character not the color of their skin. I was raised in a bigoted world and have tried to be a better man than my ancestors. Racism even reverse racism was wrong then and it is wrong now. I think that Mr. Obama should come forward with the original copy of his 1961 birth certificate signed by the doctor along with hospital records that support the document. He should also address the issue of his previously held Kenyan and Indonesian citizenships. He is a brilliant man and I believe he fully understands Constitutional Law and will be able to make his case properly. The Supreme Court of the United States needs to settle this matter. These charges will not go away so he needs to deal with them in a public court as soon as possible. This will be good for him and our nation.

Given that Obama’s mother was not in the military service serving overseas at the time of Obama’s birth and that Obamas father was not an American citizen there can be no legal record of an American Birth Abroad and Hawaii turned it rules to fake a birth certificate.As for the newspaper announcement-anyone could have done that when they showed up in Hawaii well after Obama’s birth. There is something to this lawsuit and it needs to be brought into light-why has Obama hired 13 teams of lawyers to fight this and keep his real birth certificate hidden? The reason for this is that Obama’s campaign site posted a certificate of live birth tha was an obvious forgery, then another fake one showed up somewhere else. Finaly, hawaii issued what is called a Certificate of Live Birth, which still isn’t the document that is needed to prove that he was born on US soil, just that he was born. His grandmother in Kenya said that he was born in Kenya, which would not allow him to be President.

All this can be ended with a birth certificate, instead of an army of Obama lawyers.

About Arnold……..the neither the US constitution nor the California constitution require that the Governor be a natural born citizen (not to be confused with “n aturaliz ed” ;). But for President, you must be a “natural born” citizen. There IS a significant point of law…McCain was challenged last spring because he was born in the Canal Zone, and consequently produced his birth certificate, demonstrating that both his parents were US citizens, and he was born in a territory of US sovereignty.. if presumptive President-Elect Obama is not required to present his evidence, then no one else is either. If the Supreme Court fails to require Obama to present his evidence, then they will have waived authority to do so in the future….the Supreme Court conference is set for December 5th.
so why doesn’t Obama just present his certificate and be done with it???

Obama would be considered “vetted” only if he had been subjected to a top secret clearance background check - an SSBI, which he has not.

Elected officials are not required to pass any such security clearnace.

An SSBI clearance requires the submission of one’s original, long form birth certificate, amongst many other items and sworn statements. Had he flown fighter jets in a past military career, worked in law enforcement, worked for a defense contractor on a highly classified weapons system, or the CIA, he would in fact have his original birth certificate on file with the government. But he has not ever worked in any of these areas, nor has he ever submitted his original birth documents to any party organization, election commission, or anyone else.

If substantial arguments can be made to require Obama to produce his long for birth certificate, a court can, and has every right to require this of him before taking the oath of office. If it is discovered after Jan 20 that he is not elibible, i.e. not natural born citizen, a constitutional crisis will ensue which would invalidate every executive order, every bill, and every commitment that he would have made while in office.

Because of his complete lack of transparancy in dealing with this matter, this issue grows each day, to where he may find himself incapable of ever effectively governing if he does not properly put this issue to rest before taking the oath of office.

May I ask what is so wrong with wanting to know if your President is in fact a US Citizen? Barry’s sister Maya was born in Indonesia and she also has a Hawaii Birth Certificate. I believe there are two questions here.
1. Was he born in Kenya and later registered as a live birth in Hawaii?
His grandmother says he was born in Kenya.
2. If he was born in Hawaii, and then went on to become a citizen of Indonesia he would have to have given up his Indonesian citizenship and re entered the US as a Naturalized Citizen. I understand that if his mother had not been in the US 5 years prior to his birth, he would not be a citizen. His mother could not have lived in the US 5 years prior to his birth since she was 18 when he was born.
I don’t think this is about being black, being purple or being a Republican.
It is about knowing if your President is legit. It is not a done deal folks.
Obama is not the official POTUS until December 5 or 15th.

I’m not into politics as much as you are, I’m sure, however, I am a black woman and would have to defend the race I am a part of. I’m neither Republican or Democrat. I’m just ME. Nevertheless, I don’t feel that black people are against Republicans, I do feel that PEOPLE in general are against the people who are representing Republicans. It seems as if those who are on the forefront, in teh media who represents the Republican party are hateful, negative, misguided people. One thing I did notice when watching the results (Barack being chosen over McCain), as I watched the speeches: When McCain spoke, and he mentioned Barack’s name, the people in attendance boo’d numerous times, even when McCain was finally saying things that made sense for once and that was actually positive in nature. A few minutes later, President Elect Barack Obama made a breath-taking speech and when he mentioned McCain, no one in attendance boo’d. Things that make u say….HMMMM!

If Obama is truly honest, he should just lay this to rest right now by proving his natural born citizenship and by showing his original vault birth certificate. The fact that he had been fighting this for many months and had not even publically acknowledge the multitude of lawsuits against him, including 2 before the US. Supreme Court, raises many doubts in the mind of the public. Obama’s silence is odd for a man who is not of few words. I for one, would like to hear from Obama himself why he doesn’t want to show the real original vault birth certificate. Please don’t tell me about the other Certificate of Live Birth document that was a computer print out from 2007 and that was supposedly checked out by FactCheck.org.
