California says no to gay marriage. Supporters of same-sex marriage have filed at least three lawsuits challenging a ban on gay marriage in California after the state approved an initiative Tuesday to restrict marriage to heterosexual couples. California residents voted to amend the Constitution in Tuesday’s general election by a vote of 52 percent to 48 percent in near complete results. Voters in Arizona and Florida also approved amendments to ban gay marriage in their respective states.

Thank you Jesus! Those of us who are believers and who prayed against gay marriages, our prayers have been answered. When will people realize this is not of God and homosexuality is a sin. Please don’t get me wrong, I don’t dislike gay people. If that were the case, then I would have something against those fornicating, adulterers, liars, etc. It’s the lifestyle that some of us choose to live that displeases God. God loves everyone no matter what he forgives us of our sins over and over(grace and mercy)again but we need to repent, ask for forgiveness and sin less. None of us are perfect. Marriage is between a man and a woman. Let’s not distort the word of God.

I LOVE ALL PEOPLE ..’GAY PEOPLE “..I HAVE NO FEAR OF THEM , THEY ARE PEOPLE JUST LIKE THE REST OF US. BUT LIVING IN A WORLD ..’WHERE RELIGION’..IS THE MAIN STREAM ..’GAY MARRIAGE “..WILL HAVE TO TAKE A BACK SEAT ON THE BUS. I DO THINK THAT A ..’GAY COUPLE’..THAT LIVE TOGETHER SHOULD HAVE ALL THE BENEFITS OF..” HEALTH CARE’. AND..” INSURANCE’. . BUT THE TRICK IS HOW DO YOU DEFINE THAT PARTNERSHIP FOR LEGAL PURPOSES!!

It appears the voters in CA have spoken. Why can’t those of gay rights understand this? I will make this as fundamentally clear as I can. Just like those who are gay can’t be swayed to be strictly hetersexual, neither can most people be swayed to believe that gay marriage is a wholly sanctified one. America and the Constitution are built and based on christian principles and thats just the way it is. You can’t force people to go against their core beliefs or belive in something they don’t. However we still have to show love and tolerance to others even when we don’t agree. The gay community needs to be patient a while longer. Heck, look how long it took to elect the first black man president in the USA.. It is written, “Do not feed the babe more than it can eat.” We need time to reflect on what has just happened, whats going on now, and the more pressing issues that are very troubling and effecting our nation as a whole.

I was happy to read the vote decision on gay marriage. It shows that just because you live in California — doesn’t mean Californian’s approve of gays. The Family structure is still important to most Californians. I don’t believe the lawsuits will change much, for the VOTE of the people shall reign mightily. God principles are still rule in the hearts of mankind. I am proud of the Vote to ban gay marriages. God created Man and Woman (Adam & Eve) and not Danny and Steve.

Kee, a course on Homosexuality and the Bible would serve you well. Since there are probably bible thumping/church going people on this site — if you read through your bible surrounding weddings — no priest or rabbi ever performed one — the women where GIVEN in marriage by their FATHERS. The women had no say and were lower than cattle. I’m sure many will defer to the book of Romans — if you read the scripture clear –these where heterosexuals CHANGING their SEXUAL BEHAVIORS. Some will refer to the Book of Leviticus –there are 600+ laws in this book — the part about a man laying with a man as with a woman — these are rules for those studying to become Levitical Priests — I don’t know too many GLBT persons pursuing that endeavor. I’m an ordained minister and have been ministering to the GLBT commmunity for over 20 years — I’ve performed same-sex Holy Unions as well as different gendered weddings. The sin is NOT being in relationship with someone of the same gender — the sin is not having love, not giving love and not recving love. Jesus never said anything about homosexuality being a sin — you want find it in the King James Version in the New Testament no matter how hard you look. The term “homosexuality” was only coined in the 1930s and due to the numerous versions of the bible was the term was inserted in the 1950’s. Over the past 10-15 years some (STRAIGHT) theologians who have studied the languages of the bible have come to the conclusion that there is nothing in the bible that homosexuality is a sin. Yes people will point to Sodom — but if you read it clearly — this was the whole time — men and women coming to have sex with the Angels in Lots house and he was WILLING to THROW OUT his OWN Daughter (some Dad). Furthermore, you don’t hear the preachers spitting out sermons about what happened in the cave between Lot and his daughters — I believe today we call it INCEST!
God’s Word is not being distorted — it’s being clarified.

Lynn – saying you have no FEAR of them — we’re not asking anyone to have FEAR — we’re asking for equal rights not “special rights” as opponents would have people believe. And your statement that “gay marriage will have to take a back seat on the bus” — I’m an African-American Woman and relationship with another African-American Woman and we take a back seat to NO ONE or NO THING! Your question how to define the partnership for legal purposes — you put it on paper just like hetero relationships. The only difference is one is same-sex the other is different gendered. It’s not complicated and it’s not rocket since. And you dissolve them in the same way. GLBT congregations who perform Holy Unions also dissolve them at the request of the couple — hetero churches (unless Catholic) don’t do that.

There are corporations that offer domestic partnership benefits and some city and state governments do so as well. What opponents of this practice do not want the public to know is — when I carry my partner on my health insurance the premiums paid by my employer are viewed as compensation and therefore at the end of the year I have to pay taxes on those premiums because they are after-tax dollars — a heterosexual couple does not. When city and state governments decide to do this for there GLBT employees there is such a backlash. I look at it this way — you let me pay for me or mine or you can pay for mine with your tax dollars. If mine doesn’t have health insurance and has to go to the county hospital — who pays for it — YOU DO — YOUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK as the sign says.

Peace,

LEVITICUS Chapter 18 vs.22
Says “Thou should not lie with mankind, as with womankind: It is an abomination.
It is unmistakable what the Word of God is saying.
I like the previous comments agree.
I love you with the love God gave me to love you with!
Yes you need healthcare like any human being does. Yes! you should enjoy all the rights afforded us by the constitution of the United States. How dare you try to convince me that sin should be made law and it is perfectly alright to smear it in the face of our children. To demand to be reconized as “Holy Matrimony” It is far from holy. I sin also! But “It is what it is”
