Chicago Bulls Great Dies at Home
February 28th, 2009
A former Chicago Bulls fan favorite has died at his home near United Center arena. “Stormin’” Norman Van Lier retired in 1979 with 8,770 points and 5,217 assists among his career stats. The Comcast cable commentator didn’t show up for work on Thursday when he was later found unresponsive at his apartment. The cause of death was not released. “Norm Van Lier was one of the all-time greats ever to put on a Chicago Bulls uniform,” says team chairman Jerry Reinsdorf. “Along with Jerry Sloan, he set a standard for Bulls defense and toughness which we will never forget and which we will always strive to replicate.”

Sorry to see that ,many people talked about this on a tall dating site http://Tallkiss.com ,they said: though it is a dating site,it is also a love place, love is includes everything.
Thank You Mr. Norman VanLier (Stormin Norman) for all you have done for the Chicago Bulls and with the organization. God has Blessed you with a wonderful life. My prayer are with the family. Thank Again!
My prayers are with the family. He was an all time great for the Chicago area (westside). Once before he had come to one of Chicago Housing Authority functions for (Christmas with the Bulls) and I was so Honor to get a chance to meet and talk with him. He had really inspired some of the kids that were there, and I can remember one little boy had said “Stormin Norman when I grow up I want to be a basketball player just like you with the Chicago Bulls” and that little boy is my adopted son. He’s now working towards that goal to be a ball player. Thank you Norman for passing through this way in your life and ours of our children that they can do anything that they put hard work into and working hard in School most of all because they need an education to carry them all the way. You’ll be greatly missed by your biggest fans and family and the Chicago family on the west side of Chicago.
From what little I know about Stormin’ Norman Van Lier, he seemed like a really straight-up guy. Before Sharonda starts to theorized that some white seriel killer who is out there murdered Stormin’ Norman, I can’t help but to wonder what caused a death which seems premature.
Thank you Sam in Chicago for sharing your story. It’s refreshing to read a positive story about someone who left a positive influence.
As one of a rare number of African-Americans in the sports broadcasting business, it was an honor to call Stormin Norman a colleague and a friend. Here was a guy who brought his Western Pennsylvania toughness to a city well known for its blue-collar attitude and everyone ate it up.
He is truly one of the good guys of the business and will sorely be missed.

I dont give a damm unless im on his will.
Peace and GFY
