A six-year-old girl who witnessed her mother’s murder has written a letter to Sasha and Malia Obama seeking help for her father.

Bianca Perez, who lives in New York wrote the girls “to see if you can ask your daddy to help me and my daddy,” according to the letter.

From the New York Daily News

Bianca wrote the letter with the help of her father, Joseph Perez, 31, last week. They sent the letter over the weekend.

Her mother, Christina Scarabaggio, 27, was shot to death by an abusive boyfriend in September 2007 as she tried to shield Bianca, then 4, in front of their Bay Ridge home.

Christopher Flynn, 27, shot Scarabaggio twice in the back and once in the face before turning his .380-caliber handgun on himself.

Bianca has been living with her father on Staten Island ever since. Like many New Yorkers, he has fallen on hard times.

the girl wrote the letter with the help of her father… I’d imagine it was his idea to begin with. Hopefully the President can do something to help… if Neffie and Frankie can come up on some non-sense… hopefully this man get get decent work!

How ignorant are some of you people. She is a CHILD! Key word CHILD! You make it seem like she’s an adult looking for a handout when she’s an innocent child just trying to help her dad. People say the stupidest things I swear!

My sincere prayers go out to this child and her family….”out of the mouth of babes.” I can empathize about a child writing to the first family for help. I, too, wrote to the President of the USA, Lyndon Johnson, when I was only 11 years old. I had a major project in school to complete and felt that it was a job for the President. He made my day by writing me back and providing me with information that assisted me with my project. Needlesstosay, I received an A grade on my project and it was nothing to me. However, someone heard about it and informed our local newspaper, “The South Bend Tribune” who wrote a story about it. Hopefully, my story and this young child’s story (regardless of the content) touched someone’s heart who read it, as well as made them want to make a difference in someone’s life. I pray that this young lady’s hometown newspaper will pick up the story, publish it and many social agencies, churches and plain old citizens will reach out to help this family in distress.

As a licensed Realtor in Georgia, I have specialized for 13 years in saving families in distress from foreclosure/homelessness. At one time I had a very thriving business. However, this economy has brought a serious adverse financial impact on my livelihood and finances. Just when I didn’t think it could get any worse my husband is now disabled due to kidney failure and has just been placed on the Kidney Transplant list. I practice what I preach and have continued to do so this past 15 months even without a salary. My husband now calls me “the hardest working non-paid Realtor in Georgia. I challenge someone else to come forward in this girl’s community and extended area to reach out and do the same for her. I believe that you reap what you sow in this life and somehow God is going to give it back to me 100 fold. God bless you and God bless America!!!

This is indeed a sad story and I believe that the child has the right idea to reach out for help for her and her father, but I do not believe sending the letter to the Obama children was the right route. This can bring about so many issues. If they decide to help her financially, then everyone in America that has fallen on hard times will expect the same to be done for them. But, on the other hand if they do not decide to help her then people will think they are being heartless. This letter should be forwarded to an organization that can provide the family with unbiased help, like a non-profit group in their city.

It is better to give, than to receive. This baby, is only asking for help. Instead of complaining about what or where, or how. Just dig in your pockets, and do something. Be about action, and not lip service. We all need a big heart like the late “King of Pop “Michael P. Jackson”. If you are in the home town of this child, and know of her suffering, with her father, what is wrong with being kind for a chance. You might find out it feels good to you. Just reach out and touch, somebody in need. You willo be Blessed if you do. But only do it if you mean it. Be thankful, it is not you. But it can be just as easily, as this young baby and her father. We are all just a step away from being dirt poor. It does not matter what you have or own. Just take a look in the mirror, and start with yourself. Make a change. God Bless, and I pray the baby, and her father, and others like them get help, and shelter, or whatever they may need.

This is a sad story. We need to come together as americans and pray for this family and others as well. Lets hope President Obama help every family in someway and all Americans who have been hurt by this recession. Because now it takes three jobs too make it and thats witha two working parent house hold. So please Mr President after this letter is passed on to you and you have read it. PLEASE HELP! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE LETS STOP THE VIOLENCE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SIX-YEAR-OLD’S LETTER TO OBAMA GIRLS INSPIRES FREE DENTAL CARE FOR FATHER AND DAUGHTER

(New York, NY, October 31, 2009) — Six-year-old Bianca Perez figured she had nothing to lose. Two years after watching her mother brutally killed in front of her while trying to protect her, she wrote a heartfelt letter to Sasha and Malia Obama. “Hi Malia and Sasha,” the letter begins, “Two years ago, I lost my mommy. She was killed by a bad man in front of me. I live alone with my daddy. I’m writing [this] letter to see if you can ask your daddy to help me and my daddy.” The letter ended up being read by Bev Smith, host of the nationally-syndicated Bev Smith Show and former host of Our Voices on BET. Very touched by the letter, Bev brought Bianca’s father, Joseph Perez, onto her show to talk about their plight.

Father and daughter have been dramatically impacted by the economy this past year as Joseph’s work as a commercial mover has become scarce. While on the show, Joseph mentioned that Bianca needs dental work but they don’t have the insurance or money to pay for it. Bev Smith knew she had to do something about it so she called up Dr. Catrise Austin, “Dentist to the Stars.” Dr. Austin was so moved by the story that she offered to give a year of free treatment to Bianca and her father. Joseph Perez was so overwhelmed by the kindness of Bev Smith and Dr. Austin, he said he was at loss for words and couldn’t thank them enough.

“At a time when health and dental care gets caught up in politics, the fact is, there are people out there like Joseph and Bianca who are desperately in need of care, and they simply can’t wait for Washington” Bev said. “Enough good things can not be said for Dr. Austin and her generosity in providing this full year of dental care to Joseph and Bianca.”

I AM HAPPY TO HEAR THAT THIS LITTLE GIRL HAS RECEIVED THE HELP SHE NEEDS FROM THE DENTIST BUT I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY HER FATHER WAS EXTENDED THE SAME PRIVILEGE. I THINK HE IS USING HIS DAUGHTER TO EXPLOIT HER AND THAT IS THE REAL TRAGEDY HERE. I HAVE SEEN THIS MAN ON INTERVIEWS AND HAS SAID HE DOESN’T CARE IF PEOPLE THINKS HE IS EXPLOITING HIS DAUGHTER, HE JUST WANTS HELP. WITH THAT ATTITUDE, HE IS ONLY TEACHING HIS DAUGHTER THAT BEING A CHARITY CASE IS THE WAY TO GO. THIS BABY WILL GROW UP THINKING THAT BEGGING IS THE SOLUTION INSTEAD OF HARD WORK AND PERSEVERANCE DESPITE THE ODDS. MY HEART BREAKS FOR HER BUT I REFUSE TO CONTRIBUTE TO THIS KIND OF INDIVIDUAL WHO MIGHT BENEFIT FROM HIS DAUHTER’S MISFORTUNE. VERY VERY SAD.

AND BEFORE ANYONE CRITICIZES ME FOR WHAT I SAID I HAVE THREE FOSTER CHILDREN IN MY HOME WHOSE PARENTS WERE UNFIT SO YES I DO MORE THAN TALK THANK YOU VERY MUCH. WHAT DO YOU DO?
