Comedian Bernie Mac Is Dead

Comedian Bernie Mac died at Northwestern Memorial hospital in Chicago early this morning, reports the Chicago Sun TImes. The funny standup comedian and star of televison’s popular Bernie Mac show was 50.
Mary Ann Grossett, Mac’s sister-in-law spoke with People Magazine, sharing details of her famous inlaw’s final struggle:
He couldn’t breathe. He opened his eyes on his own and looked at Rhonda (his wife). She called his name, and he opened his eyes and nodded to her. She smiled at him and told him, ‘Don’t leave me … ‘I’m waiting for you to come back.’ He shrugged his shoulders, and she said that’s when she knew he was tired. He signaled to her that his body was tired….
[The doctors] were working on him. They tried to resuscitate him two times. One time he came back for about an hour. Then he went into cardiac arrest the second time.
His cause of death has not been officially reported but Mac has been hospitalized with Pneumonia for about a week, as reported by BET.com last week.
Stella Foster, the Chicago Sun Times reporter who broke the story says “It brought tears to my eyes because Bernie Mac has always been my all-time favorite entertainer and comedian. It pains me to have to report that,” Foster said during a phone interview on Saturday morning.
Entertainment mogul Russell Simmons has a rack of Bernie Mac stories but one particularly funny one stands out. “When he saw the lead-in comedian get booed off stage in his first nationally televised appearance on Def Comedy Jam,” Simmons told BET.com, “he coined one his most, if not his single most loved lines. He said “I aint scared of you mother*******”. And at least for part of his career that became his calling card. I just remembered that and it made me laugh”

i send my condolences to the mac family bernie will always be missed he is my role model and will always be.
Bernie Mac legacy will forever be. I never had the pleasure to meet Bernie Mac although it seems as if i did. Bernie Mac was my favorite and will truely be missed. My condolence goes out to the McCollough family, stay strong and even though he is no longer with us physically, he will always remain in our hearts. Rest in Peace Bearnie Mac, We love you!

It is a sad time in the land of comedy. We have lost one of the greatest comedians of all times. I feel as though I new him personally. May God send a hedge of comfort and peace over his family and all those that knew him. Thank you for all the times you made us laugh. May you rest in peace Mr. Mac . Our Greatest King of Comedy. You will always be missed.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Mr. Bernie Mac. You will truly be missed. The best comedian in the world(to me). Everything that I saw him in, he kept me rolling and laughing on the floor. GOD bless you all and keep your heads up.

As I Read theese letters i realize that all of them says just about the same thing probably making everyone feeling more sad and depressed then what they are yes it is a hard time for us all that we had hear such devastating news we should’nt have sorrow but it is all in our nature but one thing we seem to have forgotten is the sun is shining on the other side brighter then we will ever see(joy) the man above said it was time for Bernie to come home and rest his case here. This is a grieving time but i wrote this to encourage and if we do what we are set here to accomplish then we will all see him again face to face. It is different now that he was called on to a better place there is not doubt about that but for now we will continue missing him and my prayers goes out to all lives that his changing of residence have effected.LOVE & MISS YOU ALWAYS!!!!
Wow, there are so many things that can be said about a MAN of that caliber. First and foremost, I want his family to know that GOD is GOOD all the time. He never makes a mistake and when you feel low-remember GOD is able.
His laughter was a gift that will always be remembered

Just know that God will heal that broken heart and wipe those eyes. He’s there for you and the family; so let him comforted you in your time of grieves. To the Mac family I am so sorry for your lost. I lost someone so dear to me a month ago my mom. I still sit and cry becuase I miss her much and I was the only child as well my father was never in my life. I know that you are hurting and it’s okay to cry it heals the soul. I think of it as this I needed her but God needed her more and who am I to say no. Bernie is the man because he lives in the heart he isn’t gone. He’s gone but never forgotten…
Keep God first then everything will fal in place.

Words can not express the sadness that everyone is sharing in the passing of your beloved husband, father and grandfather. I hope that in time you will find comfort in your loss, in the words from all whom loved Bernie Mac. May God shine his LIGHT on you and yours in this time of sorrow, May God continue to shine his LIGHT for now and forever. Bernie Mac, brought a smile to all that knew him and his own personal style made him one of a kind. He was a grounded and respective person and unlike most live his life to the fullest, he always keep Chi-Town in his heart and soul. As a fan I would like to thank his family for allowing us to be apart of his life we are forever thankful. We will always remember him and his style of comedy!!
When i heard that bernie mac had died i couldn’t believe it he will be greatly missed and i send my love and prayers to the family. bernie was my favorite comedian bernie was the man he brought so much laughter to my life.
He’s home with the Lord and is making him laugh. His time here made us laugh. He had me in tears watching the Kings of Comedy both on film and live. He will be missed, but we all know that he is in the greatest of places and with the Greatest One Of All, God. My thoughts go out to his family. You have a great angel watching over you.
