press conference

The death of a 15-year-old boy in Champagne, IL is causing community leaders to ask if the Champaign Police Department is targeting young black males.

Kiwane Carrington was killed Friday after an altercation with police after a neighbor called 911 to report a possible robbery. Carrington and another teen got into a scuffle with officers that resulted in Carrington being shot and killed. The name of the other boy involved is being withheld since he is in juvenile hall.

An officer involved in the incident was injured during the scuffle.

Debra Thomas, the owner of the home in question said Carrington has permission to be in the home. She took Carrington in after his mother died of cancer.

The Illinois State Police is investigating the incident.  View the family press conference here

I would like to know why are there so many teen people are already sterotyping blacks as well mexicans and other race outside of the whjite race why are they provoking a past war the been faught and won by civil right leader you mean to tell that this is what they want back I dont quite think it will be easy for those old days to comeback even there are lo-lifes out there that would love for those days to come back but mst of all even though their are loss of life simply because of there either the cop was scared or the teen didnt listen to his order but it could have been handle different from the way that it has been because maybe that young man would still be alive today I feel for the life loss but something needs to be done about this because young blacks are being (MISJUDGED) EVERYDAY JUST JUST BECAUSE OF THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN…..
