A press release from a company with no ties to actress Jennifer Hudson has tied the actress’ recent family tragedy to shotgun racks. Home Back-Up Protection chose the peculiar, if not opportunist, news angle of Hudson’s three murdered relatives to ask: “Could a bedside shotgun rack have saved Jennifer Hudson’ family from tragic death?” Home Back-Up Protection’s release goes on to describe a $40 product that can be attached to a bed mattress, allowing sleeping homeowners to keep shotguns literally at their sides. “Whether it is someone known or a stranger entering the home, too many people from this country are paying with their lives during these home invasions,” reads the pitch. “The Hudson family is just one of far too many Americans gunned down in their own home.” No details released by police have indicated that Hudson’s mother, brother or nephew were murdered while sleeping or even after a home invasion. “I really feel sorry for these people,” says John Peters, Home Back-Up’s president. “I just don’t want this to happen to someone else.”

I think that this ..’ message”..should not have been given by this company at this time of sorrow for the hudson family. but I do believe in protecting your family form home invasion. I also think that if you become famous you should have a certain amount of protection provided for your family, you have to many nuts that want to hurt and take for no reason just look at the messages you see on this site from people that want to hurt other people and don’t even know them. I would keep some type of protection in my home because if someone ever comes in while you are home you will have a chance at living. ..”God” .forbid if someone comes in your home and you don’t have anything to protect your family and one your family member gets hurt and you had the chance to buy protection you will allways say why did not do this . I do believe that the best protection is ..”Prayer”. and a good hard fight if needed
i personally feel sorry for the hudson family it dosen’t matter whether they had a weapon to protect there self’s or not ti was there time to go….even though in an tragic way but still hopefully this will draw jennifer closer to god

I think that it was in very poor taste to mention the Hudson tragedy in this ad. I feel it is morally wrong to attempt to capitalize off of a family’s sorrow. This advertisement should be removed, its the humane thing to do.

i think for using the hudson family to pitch this idea is wrong, but i get where they are coming from there is a lot of home invasions in the world today i find it terrible thart people these days are not safe in there own homes anymore, that’s just my opinion.

Why is this message advertised at this time.this family is suffering and this company is advertising violence with violence,what kind of mess is that.I thought we were suppose to stop stuff like this a long time ago. This company is taking advantage of the Hudson tragedy to promote guns and to sell a product. The ad is in very poor taste. While I believe that the blood of Jesus protects my family I also believe in personal protection. Therefore, my hubby and I plan to shoot anybody that is in our house trying to hurt us our house.

I do believe that is tacky…Guns should not be aloud in the home when there are children residing there, or any weapons for that matter. But I do believe in protecting your home. It is hard to understand and say “why me” from reading articles and such, Jennifer’s mom was a caring person and many loved her, but there were issue’s in the family that were not taken very seriously. To the Hudson Family “Stay Strong and deep in Prayer” God knows your pain, he wants to protect and help you get through this tragic loss. Let Him. God Bless and keep you.
