I had a relative that was killed in a similiar way. He was shot in the head three (yes 3) times by a rookie cop and they called it justifiable homicide. I pray for this young mans family and I hope they are prepared for the aftermath of this horrible crime. Cops are organized street gangs with attorneys and the city on their side and the sad part is, we pay their salaries. Mayor Kevin Johnson, ex NBA baller, needs to have this man and all cops involved taken off the force and that cop needs to be put in prison!!

All I can do right now is shake my head. I’m 23 years old and like Pac said “sh^t will never change”. This is why use as young people say F^^c the police. I know its some good 1s and when I say good 1s thats what it seme like. Since this new year police has been targeting blacks. Watch how things get outrage when Obama take office but I’m riding all the way like I’m riding n a chevy on 24″s.

Don’t think it was racism. Watch the video instead of being ignorant and jumping to conclusions and you’ll see it was far far from anything like that.

I saw it pretty much as he described it; ‘incompetant’ cop who had to put up a struggle with a less than cooperative and hand-cuffed suspect.

As sad as it makes me feel to see it all, I just have to wonder, why was he resisting, and why couldn’t he just have stayed sitting on the ground. He could have saved his own life.

The BART police department initially tried to say that Grant wasn’t handcuffed and the gun may have been “discharged” to suggest it was not deliberately “fired” by the officer. The officer was equipped with a 40-caliber gun, which has a strong pull on the trigger — so the gun didn’t just “accidentally” discharge. Now, the news reports are speculating and even suggesting the officer may have intended to reach for a Taser stun gun before mistakenly firing his 40-caliber gun. I’m really surprised that those BART “toy cops” have real guns. Without the witnesses’ personal cell phone videotapes of the shooting, this case could have been easily covered up even more. The recent BART station’s videotape of the shooting was very unclear and showed nothing of any significance to the shooting. The family’s attorney, John Burris, is one of the top civil rights attorneys in the country. He will definitely help the family get a huge wrongful death settlement. The officer who shot and killed Grant is looking at being charged with second-degree murder or manslaughter for his incompetence. Grant has a left behind 4-year-old daughter — this is a very sad story.

My heartfelt condolences to the family of this young man….. I know that without knowing what was going on in this officers head, it’s easy to jump to racism because the fact is that it was a white officer and a black victim and reality is that that is a possibility but I think that it is more highly possible that this officer was only working for “BART” police for 2 years. And BART police do not work in the streets of Oakland where they might get more training and experience in dealing with difficult situations. I think that this officer was an inexperienced man that was probablly nervous as hell with all of the new years eve commotion going on in the subway train when it was packed with 100’s and 100’s of people. This officer might not have ever done anything more than experience giving out a ticket for public intoxication, loittering or pan handling in the stations and now he’s dealing with trying to break up an argument involving multiple youths and is probablly freaking out in the process. Yes, he is an idiot, yes he deserves the highest possible sentence and yes he is an idiot again and BART and the Oakland Police department should be held accountable for this. BART police do not need guns they need to call in more experienced Oakland PD if it’s something that they think is dangerous situation. There should be a protest and there should be a lot of standing up but make sure that it is a truly a race crime before trying to start a race war….. For those of you that thinks that it was justified because he was struggling you can all go to hell. They probably was cutting off his oxygen and he struggled. As a bay area resident I seen the video of the shooting and this brother was shot purposely. It was no accident. The brother was down and there was two cops on him. One stood up and steped back pulled his gun and shot the brother in his back. I hope his family gets everything they can from bart. My prayers are with his kid and his family

i just saw the numerous videos of this young man being shot by that dumb ass officer. They believe that he was going for his taser gun. Which is cool but my question is why pull your taser if you have a suspect face down that seems to be cooperating? Also, if you dont know the difference between a taser and a real gun then you definitely have no business being on anybodies police department. The officer was clearly shocked when the incident occurred but the damage had already been done. This is why before becoming a police of any kind there needs to be more indepth training, so situations like this does not keepp happening. My heart bleeds for this young mans family and other loved ones. Rest in peace Oscar. Hopefully justice will be served. TIME FOR CHANGE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
