Cop Who Killed A Mother And Wounded Her 1-year-old Son Is Arrested

The White Ohio police officer who shot and killed a 26-year-old Black woman, while she 
was holding her 1-year-old baby, was charged Monday with negligent homicide. The shooting, which occurred during a SWAT raid at the victim’s Lima, Ohio, home, sparked protests throughout the northwest Ohio community, which is about 25 percent African American. On Monday, the grand jury found Sgt. Joseph Chavlia, the officer who fired the lethal bullet at Tarika Wilson, is responsible for her death. Community leaders, joined by the Rev. Jesse Jackson and several other civil rights leaders, had warned law enforcement and city officials that Lima citizens were outraged and demanded that Chavalia be held accountable for his actions. Failure to deliver it, they said, would show that the depth of racism in Ohio. “This young woman did not deserve to die,” Jackson said last month. Local residents said that Wilson’s killing was indicative of the hostility that police harbor toward Black people in Lima. On Jan. 4, a swarm of police officers busted into Wilson’s apartment, looking for her 31-year-old boyfriend, while she was holding her son. The six officers fired a haze of bullets, which killed Wilson and struck her baby, Sincere Wilson, who survived but lost a finger. When you take aim and shoot someone with your gun, I don’t see how it’s negligent,” Ivory Austin II, brother of Tarika Wilson, told The Associated Press. “No one’s above the law, even if he serves it. Don’t separate the police from the people. We are all equal in the society. Treat the police like you would treat the common man.” Neighbors and family members said that Wilson, a mother of six, was not armed. Police said that the boyfriend was the target of a drug investigation. Do you think he will be convicted and sentenced for killing Tarika Wilson?

Why would a racist cop would wait almost 30 years to kill a black unarmed woman and shoot her child….O-come on people…Do life? Charge him with murder? Lock him up? WHITE COP…OMG… Just like Jesse Jackson when he came to Lima…You people know nothing as to the facts of what went on in that house. But I guess all the theries make for controversy people thrive on.

what has happened to our society? I feel if the female had been white CNN and all the other news stations would have covered this story,but since black people lives aren’t worth much we do not get the coverage. I just heard about this story today and I am outraged. The news media will run a story about Rev. white and his words but nothing about human life that was taken. Please tell me what is wrong with that picture. One day this animal will have to pay!!!!!!!!
well um i think it was wrong for them to bust iin there like that and start letting bullets fly.It couldve been because of racsim, but im white and i hate racsim but if that cop dosent get charged i think that would be f’d up.

It sadden me to hear this story,because it proves what we as blacks have always known. WHITES HATE US!!! They’d like to see nothing more then us dead, living in drug areas and in poverty. Why we chose to deny the most obvious truth, that I do not know. For those who do not see the wrong in the officer’s actions,are not the ones who live in situations such as hers. Adaption to your surroundings are natural and rules out what society says,just as survival.

We never could trust the police departments. This is nothing new and why we as brown people have to watch everyone, not just the bad people but the people that are supposed to keep us safe. Stay strong my people. So sorry to hear about this young lady but unfortunately this happens all the time in Killa-Cali.
I wanted to become a ploice officer but all thats going on is starting to make me want to change my career……lookin at this sad situation makes me ashamed to become on of them, i think to myself she had six kids…whos goning to take care of them???
