Death Row Inmate Blinds Himself

A death row inmate convicted of killing and pulling out the hearts of his ex-wife and small children in 2004 has pulled out and eaten his own eye. Authorities, who say Andre Thomas had already gouged out his other eye before his 2004 trial, was treated after the recent incident at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, Texas. The 25-year-old has been moved to a psych unit. “He will finally be able to receive the mental health care that we had wanted and begged for from day one,” his trial lawyer Bobbie Peterson-Cate tells the Sherman Herald Democrat. “He is insane and mentally ill. It is exactly the same reason he pulled out the last one.” Thomas had been convicted of stabbing his 13-month-old daughter to death in a triple murder that also left his wife and 4-year-old son slain. He later turned himself in, telling authorities he had stabbed himself, too, put the victims’ hearts in his pocket and later thrown them into the trash. Thomas was found bleeding from the face in his cell last month when prison staff discovered his second eye missing.

Why is he still living? He should have put to death the day after the trial.
This man should have never been put on death row in the first place. He should have been in a psych ward in the first place. But soon as a black man commits a murder they want to put them to death instead of evaluating this man. It obvious he has a mental problems when he cut his wife & kids heart out & put it in his pocket! My God!

Idont understand how you can do that to your kids and wife . That is something you just dont do . I think that they should have kill him that day . How can you cut their heart out then throw it in the garbage. Instead of him pulling out his eyes he should have just killed himselk. He is not going to be blessed he is going to hell for doin something like that . God is not please with him for taking someone life espically god;s little angels.

This is a sick and terrible tragedy all around. This man is obviously insane and afflicted by the demons. There is no way a human in their right mind would do these atrocious acts. Only God can save his soul and we have no judgement in that. Let’s be grateful that he’s off the streets and cannot harm anyone else.
Now, this is one man that really needs to stay in jail forever and NEVER be able to walk the streets freely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is pure evil in its worst form. But information such as this wasn’t necessary in my opinion. It’s enough that this monster has gotten some attention self mutlating himself, disgusting! Evil is running rampant in this world. Jesus have mercy on us all. The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? When the wicked, even mine enemies, and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. This world needs prayer each and every day. I pray for the family of the victims.
If this animal could do this to people that he once loved, what could he do to the rest of society? He can not be rehabilitated so placement in a mental hospital will not suffice and would be a gross waste of taxpayer money. He needs to be euthanized just like all the other mad dogs!
this guy is really sick how can you do that to any body child or family member you deserve to die… they should of given him help along time ago.. and sorry to the family who had to go through this horrible feeling..and i hope he rest in piss thats how i feel about it..
