Death Row Inmate Blinds Himself

A death row inmate convicted of killing and pulling out the hearts of his ex-wife and small children in 2004 has pulled out and eaten his own eye. Authorities, who say Andre Thomas had already gouged out his other eye before his 2004 trial, was treated after the recent incident at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, Texas. The 25-year-old has been moved to a psych unit. “He will finally be able to receive the mental health care that we had wanted and begged for from day one,” his trial lawyer Bobbie Peterson-Cate tells the Sherman Herald Democrat. “He is insane and mentally ill. It is exactly the same reason he pulled out the last one.” Thomas had been convicted of stabbing his 13-month-old daughter to death in a triple murder that also left his wife and 4-year-old son slain. He later turned himself in, telling authorities he had stabbed himself, too, put the victims’ hearts in his pocket and later thrown them into the trash. Thomas was found bleeding from the face in his cell last month when prison staff discovered his second eye missing.
Man this guy gives the saying “an eye for an eye” a whole new meaning!
I don’t believe in prayer, I don’t believe this man was possessed by a demon. This guy should’ve been put in a mental clinic a long time ago.

Yo! This is mad crazy! Im in shock right now. How can someone actually pull out their OWN eye and EAT it! That’s some insane s#*t. That’s seems impossible to me! He needs help and never need to leave prison or get bail. He doesn’t deserve it. For killing his family and puttin harm to himself, he needs to be put in the electric chair…………….I can’t believe what i just read. That’s crazy. I have sympathy for the wife and the two children, and may God bless them dearly.
this man is truly lost and needs help more than we can imagine….killing him will not bring his family back…and he has probably been reaching out for help long before he thought to kill them….mental illness is no joke…believe that!

This is really nasty, why was he not put in some type of home in the first place he already ate his wife heart and some of his kids. Whats wrong with the system?
This is a really great guy! He asked for help and no one was there for him…I grew up with this guy; where we are from he couldn’t get the help he wanted because of the color of his skin….He doesn’t need the electric chair he need for everyone to pray for him.
