Despite Obama, 8 million Black are unregistered.

September 4th, 2008

Nearly one in three African Americans have yet to get registered
While Sen. Barack Obama’s historic campaign has injected a powerful dose of enthusiasm into America – particularly Black America – there are still 8 million African Americans that have not yet been moved to register. Rick Wade, who handles African-American voter outreach for the Obama campaign says that some 32 percent of the Black voting-age population is currently out of the loop. “Our principle focus has been a 50-state voter registration initiative,” Wade told NNPA. “I think we all appreciate that if we increase the number of African American registered voters and then increase turnout and get people to the polls on Nov. 4, then Sen. Obama will be the next president of the United States.” Four years ago, more than one in 10 voters was Black, he said. “If the percentage of African Americans was a mere two-and-a-half percent higher, 13.5 percent, Democrats would currently be running for re-election at this time,” he said. “For example in the state of Ohio in 2004, we lost by two percent or 100,000 votes. There were 270,000 unregistered African Americans. I use that as an illustration to show how the African American vote can make the difference in a state and across this country. So the African American vote can absolutely make the difference in this election.” Here’s how to get registered: Go to to BET.com’s Decision ‘08 and click the “registration” link.

Unless they go door to door to get votes, not much is going to change. Most Blacks think that no matter what we try to do, “they” are going to put whomever they want in the White House.

All we do is bi*ch and moan oh nothing never gonna change they aint going to let a black person in the white house. This article right here shows why. If you aint never been locked up by the system incarcirated then get your lazy behind out there and register. Sometimes my black people I get sick and tired of listening to us complain complain complain. Take some action and do something about the supposit injustice that amerikkka has been dishing out to us. Vote or Die as the slogan goes…. become part of history and lets put one of us where he belongs on top! If your a Mccain supporter than hey you do the same as well….Just take action or shut the heck up!

It is utterly ridiculous that in this historic time, so many Black people are unregistered. What possibly reason could there be in THIS election for anyone black (regardless to who you vote for) to not be registered to vote? Our ancestors obviously died for nothing for this right … at least that’s according to 8 million of our so-called brothers and sisters. It’s a outright disgrace.

Until we as Blacks start to understand that the only way to be heard is to vote. Every vote counts as a voice, which represents a human being. It’s very important that our voice is heard. Roaring through the NATION it’s time for a change.
When we stand UNITED we can make a difference. In the past we have sat back and put our hopes and dreams in someone else hands and hoped for the best. Then when things are taken away or cut off, we complain about the way things are, only because we neglected to use our voice by voting.
It’s time to take responsibility for ourselves, community and our NATION.
Let the World know that we can speak for ourselves. We can make a difference! Remember our Ancestors, Family and Community that committed their lives for us to have such a privledge to VOTE.

Do you know how many of the unregistered black voters are Jehovah Witness? You do know that they will not vote (based on their religious beliefs).

We can not count on them, but we can try to reach the others

I am ashamed that in 2008 black people are still talking that trash. It’s pure stupidity at this point. GET OUT AND REGISTER TO VOTE. IF YOU NEVER VOTED BEFORE…NOW IS THE TIME TO VOTE!!!
