I feel that those statistics are horrible and that there should be more blacks that need to be out here to vote. I will not just say that they should register to vote just in this election eventhough like the article said it wil be very helpful for Obama, still at the same time it makes the black race look bad because we’re always screaming no fair, but we don’t do anything for ourselves. Basically we look like the boy who cried wolf.

Kayarjay, I understand that you are trying to give us some sound reasons to vote, but I believe that if they really wanted to vote, they would get their LAZYYYY as$es out there to do it. You can lose your job? How? By filling out a not so tie consuming form haded out by people everywhere you go? How are you going to lose your job if you can do a mail-in Ballot? Maybe you are ot registered bc of the reasons you mentioned, but if yo do not understad that now is the time for change, should we even acept your reasonings Should we even consider your arguments? You can lose your job now because of the eco.crisis we ar ein. Jobs are not always temporary you know. Ask those who have lost it already. It’s sad to hear there are 8 mil. unregistered black voters cpnsidered ancestors died,were tortured and raped just to give YOU the chance to make a difference. If these people registered, McShame and his girlfriend would not have a chance to win. Instead of blaming those who dive a Dam% to vote, and saying we should come over to where yo ulive, take you by the hand and spoon feed you just so you can lose interest and never vote againis ridiculous. Why don’t you be honest with us and yourself, and just say you can care less? At lest weknow you aren’t insulting our intelligence by giving us watered down excuses. It’s sad that some people’s mentality will never change, but they will complain they do not have the powers to make a difference. You say it’s too far, yet the set up placs to vote in many areas. You say its too far, but for some of these black people, if their fave. artist was in town, they’d make it there some how, trust me. So please, get off it.

I beg to differ with all of your attitudes. I don’t believe that it is laziness that keeps enough black people to make a difference from voting. We have to remember that there is an opportunity cost to our time. If we have to take off work (if that is the choice we are forced to make) to go wait in line and vote we wont. We could lose our jobs. You have to look at the proportion of black people per SocioEconomicStatus to understand who is not voting and why they are not. The same people may not have internet access or money to justify buying stamps to register.

Don’t just complain on this blog and tell other people to “vote vote vote”. Registration may seem tedious, complicated, and silly to the people who can’t take the time to do it. Maybe the people who have the means really SHOULD get of THEIR lazy asses and help other people register. Make sure people aren’t wearing/carrying campaign items so they don’t get kicked out – help people understand the rules/regulations. Offer to set up booths at work places and churches and grocery stores… Offer to drive people who live too far from their polling places. YOU help out.

If Obama was white I’d still vote for him. If all my brothers and sisters dont get their asses down to the voting booth this time then maybe white people are right about us.
