Detroit Mayor, Ex-Lover Share Tender Moment In Court

Detroit’s “Hip-hop Mayor,” Kwame Kilpatrick and the woman with whom he had a 
steamy affair shared a cozy moment in the hallway of the courthouse where they are facing felony charges of perjury and obstruction of justice, The Detroit Free Press reports. The affair came to light after reporters got their hands on thousands of juicy text-messages exchanged between Kilpatrick and his former chief of staff, Christine Beatty. The mayor has since gone on local television to apologize to his constituents for having initially lied about the affair. But his apology isn’t nearly enough for prosecutors. The DA says that both lied under oath when they denied their relationship and gave false testimony about the firing of Deputy Chief Gary Brown in a police whistle-blower lawsuit. The officers claim that Kilpatrick and Beatty tried stop an investigation into a rumored party at the Manoogian Mansion in an effort to keep their tryst under wraps. The mayor then agreed to settle the suits for $8.4 million. Is this innocent or just plain stupid?

If you gonna be a playa,you got to be a playa at all times and on all fronts.He should just have owned up to it and let the chips have fallen where they may have.He could have saved $8 MILLION.If he lost his wife he could have used part of the $8 MILLION on the divorce settlement,and had a little something left to still kick it with his chic on the side.

Wow…being from Detroit, this is a sad situation. The 8 million dollar settlement is not coming out of Kwame’s pocket….but the people of Detroit…and lets be sure to add in the legal fees to represent this clown…the city has been struggling for years and that 8 million could have gone a long way….this whole situation has resulted in families being ruined and a city being turned inside out. What a waste!

The DA is just dumb what man wont lie until actually caught. All men lie when it comes to that. If that’s the fact then why are ALL the judges, public officals,your congress etc not in jail or on there way due to LIES about AFAIRS??????? Including the DA’S
