I will not buy the book because if she was paid off to lie then how do you know she is going to be truthful in the book. Its amazing how you sell your sole to the devil for a dollar bill. If you are raped and taken advantage of then no amount of money would have persuaded me to change my story.

I agree with you on the merits of the ‘accuser.’ Her credibility is non-existent. I would believe Jose Canseco over the ‘accuser’ any day. There will be many on here that want to believe the idea that she was paid off by the rich white people, and that she was the victim. There are many biased individuals living in denial…that think people in the inner cities draw rainbows and live nice innocent lives.
What does the book even say? That she received money from the duke player’s parents??
If she was actually the victim, why did the investigators find no proof? The accused players had alibis…one went to an atm with a cab driver around the time the accuser said the ?@%* occurred. There WAS BODILY FLUID FOUND IN THE ACCUSER FROM SEVERAL DIFFERENT MEN. Yeah, her credibility is PHENOMENAL. STAY IN DENIAL.

Im sorry but so many of you see this case for what it appears and have jumped the gun. I know that in situations like this people are quick to assume that because the charges were dropped, and being a white on black case people assume that the rich white kids (or parents) paid off the poor black stripper, but please take the time to look at the case yourself. her prosecuting lawyers were disbarred for violations of law ethics – an EXTREMELY serious charge that demonstrates just how wrong they got it. He even did time in jail for lying and unethical conduct.
Hey dont get me wrong, they are (as someone said) NO angels however they did not *$$$ ms mangum. this has been proved by both prosecuters unethical and eventual misleading conduct and also by the defense lawyers, who are now seeking defamation damages against the police department.
Now i am not saying that rich white kids have not paid off others in the past, however this was not the case this time. look at the case on its individual merits, and not on historical cases.

Sound like to me she will get to tell the story that she was paid under the table for. The story needs to be told, for you own peace of mind. The pay off

It doesn’t state here that she is saying she got paid off (in the book). The case was thrown out not by the accuser, it was dismissed by the Att General’s office….there WAS NO SUBSTANTIAL PROOF. One of the 3 men was in a cab taking money out of the atm when she said it happened. She had multiple men’s fluids in her…none of which was of the 3 lacrosse players.
She is a liar with no credibility. There will be some on here that love to stand up for other Blacks even when there is hard proof that he/she is at fault…but that just shows you the ‘OJ syndrome’ of many in the Black community. First of all I would just like to say theres no amount of money that would never make me go against the truth. So much ignorance on this board, it’s shocking. Her story was entirely discredited by DNA evidence, which was non-existent and her constantly changing story. She has convictions for prostitution and she falsely accused someone of %@%# before. But it’s the rich white boys and their parents who are at fault?
