October 31st, 200850 Cent calls himself, Kanye West “yin and the yang.” Following that old-fashioned butt-whoopin’ he suffered around this time last year, 50 Cent’s not challenging fellow rapper Kanye West to any new CD sales battles. Though the MCs are again slated to drop new music in the same week – Fiddy on Dec. 9, Kanye on Dec. 15 – rap’s biggest trash-talker is less brash with his words. “There’s no comparisons in us as artists,” says Fiddy. “It’s the yin and the yang.” Who knew Fiddy had taken up Eastern philosophy? A far cry from his vow to retire if Kanye’s CD outsold his after their simultaneous Sept. 11, 2007 releases.

To Samuel Jackson–I love you and I like watching you, but please leave that old stuff where it is–in the past. Try something original. You can do it. You are better than you think you are. Trying to do all of that stuff you saw growing up is for a kid at play. Challenge yourself. Wouldn’t you be the first to say that to your child?
