Entertainment: EbonyJet Promotes ‘Global Soul.’; Sony Says Beyoncé’s New CD Will be Released on Schedule
October 2nd, 2008EbonyJet promotes “global soul.” The Black publishing giants Ebony and Jet magazines have launched a new, 24-hour Web radio station. Touting its format as “global soul,” the outlet will play a combination of hip hop, jazz, old school and world music. “Music is shaping culture around the globe and much of it has its roots and its rhythms grounded in classic Black soul music,” says Eric Easter, EbonyJet.com’s chief of digital strategy. The station also features news content from the magazines.
Sony says Beyoncé’s new CD will be released on schedule. Acting has competed with a singer’s career to the point that she was reportedly pressed to make her CD deadline on Wednesday. Beyonce’ was reportedly due to deliver tracks in order for her next release to be timely in November. But questions about her competing obligations before the camera, plus a duet with singer Justin Timberlake, lingered as the clocked ticked on the singer. Despite the questions, a spokesman for Sony assures fans that the singer’s next CD will hit stores in November and that the first two singles will be “utterly huge,” according to TMZ.com.

I know I’m going to catch it for saying this by here goes….Acting has competed with her singing career!!!!!!! Give me a break. Beyonce can not act!!!! I dont think she’s a particularly good singer either!!! She screeches and its very irritating. A couple of her songs I like but the rest are hard to listen to. Her screeching gives me a headache!! Having said all that, I think she’s gorgeous and very stylish and she has Jay. She’s also very wealthy. I’m single, dont have a record contact, cant act and broke as heck so I’ll just sit down and shut up.

I purchased the CD when it first came out and I LOVE IT! “AVE MARIA” AND “SMASH INTO YOU” is already a hit in my book. And all of SASHA’S SONGS ARE A HIT! I can’t wait to see the video that you will make for “EGO” On the first CD there are going to be commercials and soap opera songs made from that CD AND YOUR VOICE IS BEAUTIFUL ! I’m proud of your work on this album. (I’m waiting for the video’s to be released.
