Katt Williams speaks about club incident. Stand-up star Katt Williams tells a Detroit radio station that, contrary to reports, he wasn’t the victim of a slap-down, but a robbery attempt. Fresh off his crowd-pleasing New Year’s Eve demolition of fellow comedian Steve Harvey at the “Championship of Comedy” concert, Williams took in the Detroit night life at a club days later. The performer was reportedly handed the mic to do an impromptu set at the after-hours spot, and Katt quickly set his sights on an audience member in a cowboy hat and matching boots. Spectators say Williams quipped that the man looked like he was headed to “a rodeo.” But the spectator wasn’t chuckling and is said to have walked up to Williams — who, for some reason, was sans security — giving him a hearty slap. The man, who was put out of the club, tells Vibe: “After I slapped him, he jumped back and he was still talking and it was some girls holding him back. It was actually some girls in the club grabbing bottles like they wanted to do something to me, too, like trying to protect him.” But Williams told Detroit’s WJLB-FM that the was attacked by a man trying to steal his jewelry. Katt, who’s been known to pack a pistol, avoided another weapons-related arrest in the incident. But later, the comic reportedly smoked a cigarette and was overheard telling spectators who asked if he was OK, “Hell naw, I ain’t alright! Didn’t you just see that n–ga slap me?”

Late rapper’s mom seeks chat with Queen Bee. Rapper Lil’ Kim’s recent complaints about her portrayal in the film Notorious, and her vow to strike out at the Notorious B.I.G.’s mother may have hit their mark. The Queen Bee, known by her government name of Kimberly Jones, had a high-profile extra-marital romance with the late rap star, who married singer Faith Evans. Kim recently said she’s tired of mischaracterizations by Evans and Biggie’s Mom Voletta Wallace. Wallace, who helped produce the film that’s due in theaters next week, tells Essence.com: “There were things about (Biggie) that I never knew and that I wanted to see for myself on film. I saw a side of my son that I heard of, but I haven’t accepted. I’m angered by certain things, disappointed and shocked. So this film taught me tolerance and to be less critical. I would love to speak to Lil’ Kim, because I need to ask more about this love relationship because I really didn’t like the way he treated her and I’m praying that that’s not it. Only she can answer those questions. She’s a sweet girl and I didn’t think she deserved to be treated the way he treated her, if that’s the case.” Lil’ Kim is given a memorable portrayal in Notorious by actress and singer Naturi Naughton.Rapper pays past-due child support debt. A prison-bound rapper has kept non-payment of child support from being added to his criminal record by cutting an $8,000 check to his children’s mother. T.I., who begins serving an illegal weapons sentence in March, calls the matter of his missed payments to LaShon Dixon “just an oversight.” Dixon is the mom of T.I.’s 7- and 8-year-old sons. He also has four other children. “It was just a clerical error, totally innocent,” says the rapper. “I will accept full responsibility for that.”  Tip had been ordered to increase his support payments by $1,000 a month late last year.
