Entertainment News: Janet Jackson gets MTV series; Young Jeezy Charged With DUI After Arrest In Atlanta; Gary Dourdan To Return To ‘CSI’

June 20th, 2008

R&B superstar to join reality show ranks.

Janet Jackson

Janet Jackson is set to become the next reality TV star with a show that will find her mentoring other singers and performers. The mega-entertainer’s MTV series will put Jackson in the role of talent scout, seeking the next undiscovered pop superstar. “It’s really about finding who’s the next Janet Jackson or Justin Timberlake or Usher,” says executive producer Dave Broome. “And we’ll find it from a pool of people who you wouldn’t typically find it from. We’ll go to YMCAs, church groups, local community centers and try to cast the show.” Jackson ’s world tour kicks off Sept. 10 and may showcase the winner of the series.

Young Jeezy is charged with DUI after arrest in Atlanta
Young Jeezy  was pulled over for allegedly driving a vehicle that had no license plate. Cops say he was also found with an open container and no proof of insurance. The rapper was released from the ATL City Detention Center on bond and scheduled for court July 17.

Gary Dourdan is re-hired to “CSI”
After his high-profile drug arrest this past spring, amid rumors that he has a dope problem, Gary Dourdan is expected to return to TV’s “CSI.” The actor pleaded guilty to possession after he was arrested in April while asleep in an illegally parked car in California . “CSI” show execs left questions about whether Dourdan’s planned separation from the show was forced or voluntary. But he’ll return next season, having been re-hired. Dourdan first gained notice on television as a cast member of the 1990s sitcom “A Different World.”

whoever wrote that story about young jeezy needs to make it their last. Young Jeezy was not put on blast by 50, it was Young Buck. OMG get your mind right. That’s a jump off right there. I am so sick of hearing how these rappers with all this money can’t get along and getting DUI’s n’ sh*!. Whether you have money or not you are an adult and need to start acting like it. We have bigger problems in this country to worry about. Gas prices are supposed to be at 7.00 by the end of 2008 and we are talking about who beefin with who and who got pulled over. The blog that was posted about the boycott of oil companies has zero responses. This just shows where our heads are at.

So was the final episode just a dream? He was shot and it appeared as though he was dead. Oh, I forgot, this is TV, he’ll survive

romalynda said on June 20th, 2008

BET blog writeers really need to focus on the facts. Young Buck and Young Jeezy are 2 distinctly different people. Jeezy was never apart of G-Unit and his DUI has nothing to do with being put on blast by 50.

It’s about time! I think she would bring so much culture among other things.

I am glad he’s getting a second chance and he’ll need support as well from the public as he goes through all of this. If he falls again, he’ll need more support until he can stand on his own!

NOW I AGREE WITH DB IN HIS COMMENT ABOUT ALL THIS STUFF THAT’S GOING ON IN THE WORLD AND HE IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. THESE ARTISTS HAS THIS MONEY BUT THEY ARE NOT BEING ADULTS ABOUT EVERYTHING THAT THEY DO. WHY MAKE MILLIONS WHEN YOU DON’T HAVE THE PROPER STUFF FOR YOU CAR, INSURANCE, LICENSES AND EVERYTHING ELSE THAT’S NEEDED FOR IT. BE MORE RESPONSIBLE CAUSE AT THIS POINT EVERYBODY IS STILL WORRIED ABOUT THESE CELEBRITITES. WHAT THEY REALLY NEED TO WORRY ABOUT IS GAS, FOOD, THE ECONOMY PERIOD. WHO WILL BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT WHO CAN POSSIBLY GET US OUT OF THIS RECESSION. BECAUSE BEFORE WE KNOW IT EVERYBODY INCLUDING THIS CELEBRITIES WILL HAVE NOTHING BECAUSE THEIR FANS WILL NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO BUY THEIR ALBUMS, NOVIES OR ANYTHING ELSE OF THEIRS. JUST THINK ABOUT HOW IT IS REALLY AFFECTING THE PEOPLE WHO REALLY NEEDS THE HELP. THERE WILL BE ALOT OF PLACES GOING OUT OF BUSINESS IF THESE THINGS DO NOT GET UNDER CONTROL. SO WHO CARES ABOUT WHO IS BEEFING AMONG EACH OTHER NOW, WE ARE WORRIED ABOUT HOW WE ARE GOING TO SURVIVE FROM HERE ON OUT.

I’m glad to see Gary Dourdon is back on CSI. The brother deserves a second chance.

Glad Gary Dourdan is back, he’s a good actor. If he has a drug issue just hope he gets help. I think he and Kandi Alexander are some of the strongest actors on those shows right now. Maybe everyone should go to the CSI website and tell them they are glad he’s back too. It always helps.

I’m very pleased that Gary will be a factor in the popular series csi. i mean look at the satistics, you have one(1) token african american on each of these mainly watched shows.Keeping Gary D. is vital. Their should be a law on every show in hollywood. that there is TO BE unquivocal equally amount of african americans played as there is caucasians on every show. Gary makes a loud statement whether he knows it or not, staying on that show will mean a lot to his people. because i tell ya, everyday i watch tv and get very annoyed by what i dont see, and that is talented beautiful brown sugar, AA, i wished like hell something will be done about this INJUSTICE….im out..ato ut’ ;alors.. (that 217;s see ya in french) well done Gary, stay clean, they’re watchin you..

I am glad that Gary Dourdan is returning to “CSI” becasue the fans were mad like myself and went to CBS.com and sent an email of protest to the network & producers of the show.”CSI” is one of the most popular show on TV and losing a major Africian American character would have been a major mistake for CBS. William Petersen’s character Gil Grissom is leaving the show and they couldn’t afford another major character to leave. I believe the actors will get more money down the road and I am happy Mr.Dourdan will return of the cast.

I saw the 9th season opener and Gary AKA Warrick Brown did not make it. I think it is sad I would have liked him to have stayed on in the series. It was a pretty good episode but how are they going to let Grissom AKA William Petersen walk away? Now that will be interesting!!!!
