Entertainment: Oprah and Friends Honor Essence’s Taylor; Housewives’ NeNe Leakes Was Evicted; Despite Running a Fever, Tina Turner Did the Garden

Housewives’ NeNe Leakes was evicted. The breakout star of the hit Bravo reality series “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” was evicted from her pricey Duluth five-bedroom house, The Atlanta Constitution reports. According to Darryl Pierce, the broker for the 5,000-square-foot home, NeNe and her husband, Gregory Leakes, left in November, three months after Winwood Properties filed an eviction notice. Filed Sept. 24 with the Magistrate Court of Gwinnett County, the notice said Greg Leakes owed $6,240 in past due rent. “The tenant said they would move by Sept. 14 because they could no longer afford the house,” the notice said. The Leakeses moved into the home shortly after it was built in 2006, Pierce said.
Despite running a fever, Tina Turner did the Garden. People are still talking about how the 69-year-old Tina Turner who, despite having had a fever so high on Monday that she was hospitalized, wowed the crowd peppered with celebrities at New York’s Madison Square Garden Monday night. Whoopi Goldberg raved about her the next morning on “The View,” urging every woman in the audience to go see the show. Other celebs attending “An Evening with Tina Turner” Monday night included Anne Hathaway, MTV head Toni DiSanto, Tom Cruise and his wife, Katie Holmes – who were celebrating their second anniversary, and Molly Simms, reports The New York Post’s Page Six. The celebs, when brought backstage to meet Turner before the show, were told because of her illness, that “no one is to shake her hand, and she cannot talk before performing [because of the illness]. She’s very shy.” But Turner not only shook hands but spoke with each guest, noted the Post. The eight-time Grammy-winner was determined to stick to her tour schedule and pressed ahead with her gig on Monday, reported The San Francisco Chronicle. There was no word on exactly what caused Turner’s illness.
I recently wrote an article about interracial dating…and there are some huge misconceptions about it…including the misconception discussed by Washington,DC- Terry Williams Sr. As a black woman, I love wonderfully wholesome black men for who they are, and would willingly tell a brotha that, too. Nontheless, I am single not because I am bitter, but because I choose to be. Well, Reading is a must! Iam married to a black women, never been with or will ever be with anything other. We still have a way to go. I read, re-read and make sure, I understand what it is, Im responding to before, I do. Again All but one black women on that show is trash. I know when black women read well) half read something about “black women they stop and respond before fully reading and understanding what it is you are reading. But, I still love and will always love my black women.

she had her injured man’s back, she held up the fort & team worked with her spouse the best. DeSean, made a great decision to go back to school instead of playing recess with these other children, Nene had the best gathering because the benefactors of the function face a constant reality
that hits home whether your rich or poor. The biggest deficeit these black women & wanna be’s is the LOG problem. That may be due to the sponsor or director. Oh, what is the LOG problem? Lack Of God. He deserves more

I will never rejoice over something like this because this can happen to any one of us. Nene react in a way that we didn’t aprove of but you pray for people like that not kick a person when their down, no matter how she carried herself. She have God to answer for her short comimgs just as we all do. Lift her up in pray.

Washington, DC Terry williams Sr: I can say that writing clearly is a fundamental requirement too, because both of your posts were difficult to understand–hence the reason why many of us assumed you were not only attacking black women, but that you were also married to a white woman. Was she really evicted or was this a prank–I pray she wasn’t because I loved how she entertained us all. Remember, this was only a show and don’t take it to heart.
Hey Ms. Troy: Thank you for the big ups…we still have to forgive this brotha, though because he opened up this dialog and encouraged us all to learn more from him. Also, many black men tend to generalize about all black women in this manner. That is why many [not all] of them seek solace from women that are from different racial backgrounds, etc. I think that sincere dialog is needed between black men and women to explore this pain. This is because a lot of sistas are hurting over this, and alot of black men are too….

I fully expect my husband to give, give, give to me because I give, give, give to him. We take care of each other and we have for 18 years. Your other statement “To my black women wake up and recognize that good man you have before it’s to late or if it’s to late don’t trip now cause he with that white women!” was equally insulting to black women because if your into white women that’s your business just admit it but do not blame it on black women if you crave plain vanilla over sweet milk chocolate. LOL.
BTW: Contrary to what some people think…black couples can be happily married. I am living proof and there are a lot more black women like me.
