Entertainment: Oprah and Friends Honor Essence’s Taylor; Housewives’ NeNe Leakes Was Evicted; Despite Running a Fever, Tina Turner Did the Garden

Housewives’ NeNe Leakes was evicted. The breakout star of the hit Bravo reality series “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” was evicted from her pricey Duluth five-bedroom house, The Atlanta Constitution reports. According to Darryl Pierce, the broker for the 5,000-square-foot home, NeNe and her husband, Gregory Leakes, left in November, three months after Winwood Properties filed an eviction notice. Filed Sept. 24 with the Magistrate Court of Gwinnett County, the notice said Greg Leakes owed $6,240 in past due rent. “The tenant said they would move by Sept. 14 because they could no longer afford the house,” the notice said. The Leakeses moved into the home shortly after it was built in 2006, Pierce said.
Despite running a fever, Tina Turner did the Garden. People are still talking about how the 69-year-old Tina Turner who, despite having had a fever so high on Monday that she was hospitalized, wowed the crowd peppered with celebrities at New York’s Madison Square Garden Monday night. Whoopi Goldberg raved about her the next morning on “The View,” urging every woman in the audience to go see the show. Other celebs attending “An Evening with Tina Turner” Monday night included Anne Hathaway, MTV head Toni DiSanto, Tom Cruise and his wife, Katie Holmes – who were celebrating their second anniversary, and Molly Simms, reports The New York Post’s Page Six. The celebs, when brought backstage to meet Turner before the show, were told because of her illness, that “no one is to shake her hand, and she cannot talk before performing [because of the illness]. She’s very shy.” But Turner not only shook hands but spoke with each guest, noted the Post. The eight-time Grammy-winner was determined to stick to her tour schedule and pressed ahead with her gig on Monday, reported The San Francisco Chronicle. There was no word on exactly what caused Turner’s illness.
Hey I watched the Real Houswives of Atlanta. And NeNe was the most rude and disrespectful person on the show. That’s what you get NeNe

Da*n, I am so glad. Iam a 39 year old black man from Washington, DC and been married for 14 years ( Happy years ) My wife and, I watched that show and was blown away with the way the black women act. Just out for money. Now people can see it’s not real. You can have a long and lovely life togather with out the $ 10,000.00 dress. I bust my a** every day to provied for my wife. When my wife watched the show she turned to me and said ” I love you and thank you for being you” That ment the world to me. Stop looking for a man to give, give, give. Life is too short love last for ever and your house?? NeNe Were is it? Show me the house! To my wife, I love you and thank you for the 14 years of happyness. To my black women wake up and recognize that good man you have before it’s to late or if it’s to late don’t trip now cause he with that white women!

How are you try’n to put all black women in some box? You sound ridiculous. I’m glad you have found love with your white wife. That is your business but for you to be here trying to downgrade all black women makes me know that you are just trying to justify your decision to marry outside your race to you b/c we don’t care. You attract who you are. Maybe you are f’d up & that’s why you had f’d up experiences w/ black women. We can sit here and debate all day about white women vs. black but I do know that there are gold diggers in both races. Kim is also in that show or did you miss Ms. I need that Cadillac Big Poppa! Wash. DC TWSr, please already! Why in your natural mind would you think that all black women act that way … you apparently have not been around nor exposed to very many (as Mrs. Troy plainly indicated is probs a result of YOUR inadequacies and limitations).
If you ever ready any professional journals, etc., you would learn that the majority of black women are highly educated and possess professional careers, so that RHwOFA show is simply sheer TV entertainment and in no way an implication of true black women! Please learn to differentiate between the surreal-TV and reality b/c (as was also stated above) “gold diggers/users/leeches” exist in all races, sexes, creeds, etc.
In closing, I feel very sorry for you if hold such distorted views and opinions of all black women based upon your perception of a television show! Truly very very sad!!

This Housewives of Atlanta show is merely entertainment. As one of those black women that is highly educated and have a professional career and much self respect I resent the implicaiton that all black women have gold digging tendencies. I need no one to support me although I have a loving hubby that also works. This show is no reflection on us as black career women and anybody who thinks so is plain crazy!
