ENTERTAINMENT: Oprah’s Latest Generous Gift; Foxx’s ‘Intuition’ Pays Off

Oprah Gives a Fat Check to Atlanta Educator
On Christmas Eve, Ron Clark, the creative, inspiring educator, got a Federal Express package from the Queen of Talk TV, Oprah Winfrey. It was $365,000. Turns out that Winfrey had been monitoring the success of his South Atlanta school and thought that $1,000 a day for an entire year made sense as she was looking for the recipient of her most generous gift this year, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Clark, who said his school needs $2.4 million to operate, says the extra money will enable him to provide 26 full scholarships for a year. Last month, his academy also got $300,000 from Tony Cann, vice chairman of Promethean Ltd, the leading manufacturer of collaborative classrooms systems.
Foxx’s ‘Intuition’ Pays Off
Jamie Foxx’s third album, Intuition, debuted at No. 3 on the Top 200 Albums chart, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The disc’s success goes in part to the offerings of such sidemen as T.I. (on “Just Like Me”) and Ne-Yo and Fabolous (on “She Got Her Own”). With a total of 265,196 units sold in the first week, Intuition also reached No. 2 on the R&B Albums chart. The video for “Just Like Me” was the Spotlight video on VHI, netting more than 100 spins a week on VH1 Soul.
Way to go “O.” That’s how she remains so successful, because she is always giving. Bless u “O.”

OPRAH, has so much money until it ’s not funny, I watch OPRAH spend money on BIG NONSENSE PROGRAM’S for wealthy CELEBRITY’S, please, give me a break, OPRAH as well as other wealthy AFRICAN AMERICAN CELEBRITY’S show all of their home’s on T V and yet, they could come into the BLACK COMMUNITY and help build it up, and why couldn’t she give a couple of MILLION DOLLAR’S, that’s a drop in the bucket for OPRAH, and furthermore, I have heard OPRAH COMPLAIN about helping her own RELATIVE’S, OPRAH build a school in AFRICA, and what the people needed were DECENT HOME’S and FOOD TO EAT EVERYDAY!!!!!!!

YES, go and, as you say (HOLLA at some more SCHOOL’S) because it is a SHAME and a DISGRACE for this to even be REPORTED, no AFRICAN AMERICAN COLLEGE should never, ever be in need of DONATION’S, this is the year 2009, and we have wealthy AFRICAN AMERICAN’S all over the PLACE, where is TYRA BANK’S? and all of those other MULTI MILLIONAIRE’S, where are the RAPPER’S with all of those CAR’S and JEWELRY they FLAUNT around in. oh, and please do not let me forget, BYONCE and her HUSBAND, these AFRICAN AMERICAN’S, should make sure all BLACK COLLEGE’S ARE NEVER in NEED, and don’t let me forget the ATHLETE’S, what about TIGER WOOD’S and KOBY BRYANT. TO WHOM MUCH IS GIVEN, MUCH IS REQUIRED.
AMEN, mattie!!!! I wish I was rich. I would love giving to situations like that. I would love rounding up my fellow wealthy constituents and pushing them to give as well. A person needs to start at home but after so much has been done and you live well, its time to help others as much as possible. GOD, please broden my territories!!!! I want to be blessed to be a blessing!!!!!
People just be thankful that she saw fit to even support the school.. Stop complaining about what she does and be thankful that she did. She earned that money and can do just what she wants to with it. It was for a worthy school , she thought so. May God continue to bestow his riches upon you Oprah.

There are rich blacks that are giving as well. They have created foundation with their own money and are helping the black communities; sometimes anonymously and sometimes with their actual time..but as usual the media doesn’t report the good deeds that blacks do… only the bad.
