ENTERTAINMENT: R.Kelly Divorces; TVs Will Go Black

R&B singer R. Kelly and Andrea Lee, his wife of 11 years, have divorced, the entertainer’s lawyers announced in a statement. “The parties have reached an amicable resolution concerning all issues related to their marriage and will share joint custody of their three children,” the announcement said. “The details of this agreement will remain confidential and the family requests that their privacy be respected during this time.” It’s not as if the announcement were a shock. The couple, which has three children together, separated more than three years ago after Lee filed an emergency restraining order against Kelly, claiming that he had physically abused, harassed and stalked her. Lee, 35, who is seven years younger than Kelly, met the performer while auditioning as a backup dancer for him.

Next Month Hundreds of thousands of Americans – many of whom are poor and minority – will be left out of the TV loop next month when all televisions switch from analog to digital. For lawmakers like Rep. Edward Markey (D-Mass.) and Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.), that’s unacceptable, the Feb. 17 changeover should be delayed. While the switch guarantees a much sharper picture, it would leave hundreds of thousands of folks without any picture at all, according to John Walsh, senior vice president for programming at PBS. “Currently, 99 percent of American households have television,” said Walsh, speaking to the Television Critics Association. “Are TV households in the U.S. now going to be 95 percent? Ninety-seven percent?” “Just because of the nature of digital versus analog, someone who is on the wrong side of a ridge or something like that may suddenly not be able to get a station that they always used to get analog.”

Lets not say the marriage was ll avout the money, she is 7 years younger than R. kelly, he likes younger women. Waht is most important is that they have 3 children, and yes, his money needs to support HIS children, not to mention the abuse she is claiming. If R. was or has hit her, there is another issue he needs help with, I am like Mollie, seek Jesus. R. has plenty of money, he may need to take a break and seek some professional and spiritual help.
If you don’t know R. Kelly personally then don’t comment on his life like you do, you know what the media says. He makes excellent music nobody can deny that, that what he should be known for. I Love R. Kelly and his music, his personal life is his business just like yours is yours. We ALL need Jesus!

Sparkle, no one commented on his life….they just said he should seek Jesus! We all should. The media has shown us an important part of his life….he likes younger women…Shucks he even showed us in his interview after he was found not guilty….He is a musicla genious like Michael and Prince..with the talent they have comes major psychological issues! Maybe his wife stayed for money..maybe she stayed for love…but one things for sure…she is now entitled to everything for staying married at least 10 years!

You need to grow the *%*? up! RKelly is a celebrity and therefore his personal life is often made public which means than ANYBODY can comment on it if they feel like it. I feel like it. If anything instead of protecting and professing your love for the creep you need to be re-examining your personal issues and why you are ignoring the fact that this is NOT a good man…abuses very young girls, committs adultery, neglects his 3 kids, physically abuses his wife….and this is your idol. Please…you need to meet RKelly at the mental health clinic, girlfriend!, so you can both get your heads examined!
The problem is that black girls don’t know how to treat black men. That is why he comes to us white women.

i’m an events manager i’ve had the opportunity to meet mr.kelly and I must say he can fool you into thinking he’s a respectful man,however after he is liquored up he changes i’ve seen him disrespect his wife and all the Dawns out there(white women) a person can only be who they are its up to you how you accept them,but i’ve been taught if you can’t help a person don’t judge them.I jus stay away from them and honestly i’ve seen it a million times some of yall talk about him bad and as soon as he come in your face you scream&holla to be with him.
