Taco Bell calls 50 Cent lawsuit publicity stunt. The Taco Bell restaurant chain says rapper 50 Cent’s $4 million trademark infringement lawsuit is just Fiddy’s attempt to draw attention to himself. And while it’s true that Fiddy’s known for drawing attention to himself, the company’s recent court filing would have a judge believe the rapper’s music, not his claim against them, should be the issue. Taco Bell’s lawyers say 50’s work “falls in the subgenre of hip hop music known as ‘gangsta rap,’ a style associated with urban street gangs and characterized by violent, tough-talking braggadocio.” The rapper objected to a campaign the restaurant launched this summer, linking him to a promo that asked him to change his name to the restaurant prices of 79, 89 or 99 Cent. Taco Bell lawyers argue that Fif took them to court only to “burnish his gangsta rapper persona.” Guess nothing says “gangsta” like a civil action.
Singer to defend himself against lawsuit. Having previously said he’s too ill to travel, Michael Jackson reportedly plans to testify in a London courtroom Monday. The singer faces a $7 million lawsuit from a Middle Eastern sheikh who says Jackson backed out of a music and book deal. Among the sheikh’s claims are that Jackson never showed for a recording session on a song that was intended to raise cash for New Orleans hurricane survivors in 2005. Jackson’s last high-profile court appearance was during his criminal child sexual abuse trial, where he was acquitted.

Let these people with alot of money just live there lives.Its a shame what people will do to get money out of someone somteimes I just dont understand people.
They really need to stop their suff. Don’t like to see blacks doing their thing.they just trying to get money out of a big star.
I wish that people could stop trying to get money out of all the big stars. get a life and if he did that to children that is something he will have to face everday. In my eyes I love michael jackson.

There’s two sides to every story, Fifty has every right to sue Taco Bell for wanting him to change his name to 79 cents, 89 cents, or 99 cents to help promote their tacos and burritos (although, the commerical would have been funny) that would’ve definitely messed his g-g-g-g-unit image up more than, Game & Kanye did but, I hope he prevails and make another classic cd once, “Self Destruct” arrives, after all “Get Rich Or Die Trying” did bring him international fame.
As for as Michael, everybody and their family knows Michael has issue and not, making music isn’t one of them. Who’s to say the sheik is telling the truth, Michael has more fame than, any of us can imgaine and ordeals. Regardless of his complexion, we know Mike is still black and we know he can still make music, basically everyone has a right to voice our oppinion. But, don’t cast a stone if you’re living in a glass house and everyone can see your business. We all need help.
You know I have been reading some different posts on this blog and have seen some disconcerting things. On this post people are actually saying that we should respect Michael Jackson because he is black even though he has had multiple charges of sexual abuse with children. On the other hand I have read other posts that put down every white person in the world stating that they are the devil. I think that people should start looking at actions not color. Jackson has done some sick and twisted things if he were any other race people would be fit to be tied. Just because he is black does not mean that he can do no wrong.
dreamweaver 21, oh please, MIchael was set up. Michael should be respected because he earned it. No, Michael should NOT have to suffer and be “labeled” because of a lies. At the trial, it was clear that it was a set up. I do not care what color Michael is, if the man did NOt do anything he should not be accused. it is ashame we live in a society that people love to believe lies. As for that Prince, that Prince gave the man “gifts”. Sorry but you can NOT get gifts back. Lets be real, by suing Michael, a person get exposure. That is what that Prince wanted in order to showcase his music. He though he was going to have the GREAT Michael Jackson sing one of his songs, and when Michael left, this Prince wanted his gifts backs. reminds me of “good times” when JJ did not do what Sweet daddy wanted him to do with that picture of his girlfriend and Sweet daddy wanted his “gifts” back.

YOu do not know know. How do you know what MIchael has done that is evil? Where is your proof? the tabloid press. the media. Give me a break. I was at this man trial and I heard and seen all the players. Believe me, Michael was set up. Even the 1993 mess came out and it showed that was all a lie and set up by people to wanted to lie for money. Many of these people had to pay Michael back for slander. You did not know that did you. That is why I say, do not talk as if you know MIchael or what he does. You do not know NOTHING. that is clear.
