Fate of intimate MLK letters to be determined in court.
In the latest King family drama, a judge has ordered the daughter of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. to bring intimate correspondence between the civil rights icon and his late wife, Coretta Scott King, to a Fulton County courtroom for a hearing to determine the letters’ fate. At stake, among other things, is a $1.4 million publishing contract for the autobiography of Mrs. King, reports The Atlanta Journal Constitution. Penguin gave notice that it would terminate the book deal if it did not receive the letters by today. The Rev. Bernice King, the youngest of the King children and administrator of her mother’s estate, has refused to hand over letters and photos for an autobiography she says her mother didn’t want. They letting his legacy turn to shyt with all this bickeirng anyway so why not turn over the letters and get out of the newspapers . I bet Coretta didn’t want them fighting over money like spoiled heathens on main street either!

HOW IN THE HELL ARE THEY GOING TO FORCE HER TO TURN OVER LETTERS THAT HER MOTHER DID NOT AGREE TO.. SHE MIGHT NOT HAVE WANTED INTIMATE LETTERS BETWEEN HERSELF AND HER HUSBAND TO BE MADE PUBLIC.. MOST OF THEIR LIVES HAVE ALREADY BEEN MADE PUBLIC AND I THINK THAT THEY ARE ENTITLED TO HOLD SOME ASPECTS OF THEIR LIVES PRIVATE..
I agree with beautiful 1, they are entitled to hold some aspects of their lives private. People think money is everything, we cant take it with us when we go, people need to wake up and realize that God should be our main focus…leave her alone, she has to put up with all of this and the loss of her parents…how rude to invade in someones public life like this for money…
MLK was quite the womanizer, and had affairs with other women while married. I would think there may be more things in these letters that Mrs King may not want made known to the public. If her Mother did not want this done she should respect her wishes. We don’t need any dirt about all this made known to our children. Much of JFK’s life has been tainted due to books about the awful things he did to Jackie, and the disrespect shown through out their marriage. There is a reason she did not want this book written, and her wishes should be respected. Shame on her daughter…
