Feds Try to Calm Tensions in Oakland
January 14th, 2009The feds are hoping to quell tensions in Oakland, Calif., that have been boiling since the New Year’s Day shooting death of a handcuffed Black man by a White transit cop. U.S. Justice Department officials told members of the California Senate and the U.S. Congressional Black Caucus that they will meet with Black leaders, local law enforcement officials and members of the community in an attempt to cool the outrage and curtail future violence. The Justice Department’s Community Relations Service was provided for in the 1964 Civil Rights Act. The officials will report on their findings and provide follow-up as needed.

I heard on the radio this morning that that coward that shot this young man has been found and arrested. They ought to put his *** under the jail.
The Alameda County District Attorney was under a lot of pressure to finally charge the former BART cop with murder; now he is in a Nevada jail awaiting extradition back to Oakland on a suspicion of murder warrant. He should have been arrested long before the state of California Attorney General and U.S. Department of Justice offices started monitoring the case. The guy was obviously a flight risk to leave the state and I’m glad he is in jail — where he belongs. Why did he run across the state line — if he is innocent? His arrest will help ease some of the tension during today’s scheduled protest in Oakland.
Why did it take so long to arrest this murderer? A quicker arrest might have averted some of this senseless rioting.

AND SEEING AND OLD WHITE DISABLED homeless LADY ,WALKER ON THE BACK OF CAR -THEY had A VERY bad ATTITUDE.
I ALWAYS AVOIDED THEM after that.

People who can need to ask the big questions and get BIG CHANGE in their training and attitudes. From what i experienced several years ago i feared this was bound to happen sooner, actually.
He should get lethal injection for purposely killing that boy. They are trained on how to withdraw any weapon they have on them so all the excuses they were trying to give for this white devil actions blow it out their a**. Hell is already at Oakland justice better be served correctly or there will be worse hell they will have to worry about.

Unfortunately, Oakland have a lot more problems to deal with than just this shooting! Former Oaktowner!

I’m sick of the shooting against young black unarmed males being shot by police and you want us to be quite about it. I DON’T THINK SO!!!! California is bad about the number of killings and beating of blacks by police. It’s not about keeping the peace or community order — it’s about scared police officers who don’t have the experience to control the situation in a respectful way so they shot first and want to ask questions later!!! That ain’t going to fly!!! Stop the killing of our unarmed children you coward police officers. Crime is out of control because of the way thoughs who are in authority over us (police) need pyscholo-therapy by out-side counselor’s. These aggressions attitudes need to stop. Oakland folks keep the pressure on this issue because the police was wrong in this case!!!
