Fighting in Nigeria Kills at Least 39
July 27th, 2009Fighting between armed forces and Islamist militants have left at least 39 people dead in Nigeria, the BBC reports. Men from the militant group, Boko Haram (“Western education prohibited,” translated in English), attacked a Bauchi police station with guns and explosives and security forces fought back by attacking a nearby settlement, according to reports. The militants attacked the station because of the arrest of some of the group’s leaders, one Boko Haram member told Reuters. The group wishes to “clean the system which is polluted by Western education and uphold Sharia [Islamic law] all over the country,” he said. As a result of the conflict, police say that more than 150 people have been arrested.

This people sre crazy, there aint gon be no sharia law in Nigeria. That why I dont wanna go back. I love ma country but the sharia thing and religious fight is getting out of hand. Just praying that someday everything will be alright and I can go back to ma motherland
it will not happen in nigeria ,if not nigeria will split ,south will never adopt sharia law ,

Nigeria is a multi religious nation so what do they want us none muslims to do?…..leave the country for them or what!…
I think that what is happening in Nigeria is very sad and I also think it is lack of co-operation between the Nigerian people.Nigeria is a malty cultural country with many different languages and religions.I believe that even with all the different ethnic groups we can still live in unity and peace.
