Florida Racist Drives Car Into Black Biker
July 17th, 2008He allegedly was mad that an African American had slept with his wife
A Florida man targeting African Americans slammed his car into a 25-year-old Black woman who was riding her bike, according to police. Police said that Thomas Cosby, 56, drove his automobile into Nekedia Cato, and in the process destroyed a nearby porch and hit a tree before causing her to roll over three times, according to NBC affiliate WESH Channel 2. “He just hit me because I was Black,” Cato, who was riding her bike home from the store, told the television station. “I actually saw him coming toward me. I tried to move my bike as fast as I [could], but it wasn’t quick enough. He came straight for me.” After Cosby crashed, police said, he got out of his car and yelled the “N”-word and a slew of racist remarks, including how he wanted to kill Black people, WESH reports. “He was screaming out he had to kill all Black people because one slept with his wife,” said Cato, who suffered several injuries, broken bones and a broken leg so severe doctors inserted a metal rod into her leg. “If he could target me just because of the color of my skin, he could target anybody else. “I’m kind of scared walking down the street because I don’t know if people hate me.” Authorities say she could spend several weeks in the hospital. Cosby is facing hate-crime charges for alleged aggravated battery and simple battery.
Well it is not surprising that the white race has always been feared or intimidated by the black race over the generations. Look at how the white media is portraying michelle obama. Its amazing that I have been n almost all online polls to see negative ratings on Michelle Obama. Can America explain this to me. Is america or white america fearful of a first black first lady? and a First black President. If u really look at it I think we have much to fear with this current war policy that have us closer to an apocalyptic trench!

This incident happened in Daytona Beach. It is an hour drive from Orlando. Daytona is a racist town. The cops their arrest black people for no reason. They were happy to rid Black Beach and BET Spring Bling. They even wanted to shut down Bethune Cookman College. Just yesterday, they fired a black cop of 15 years on the force. Just because he wanted a special coffee from Starbucks with less clalories. He should sue Daytona and Starbucks.
There must have a dam good reason for his wife to wanna go after a brotha instead. This just proves it.

This man admitted to being a racist. This was attempted murder. A hate crime is a ridiculous cop out. If anything it should be added to his attempted murder charges. No wonder his spouse slept with a black person. She knew he would be more sane than her husband was.

Why are you all so surprised, and upset, havent you realized that for every white person that accepts us or pretend to like us, there is about 10 of them that despise and hate you, and will kill you at the right oopurtunity.
Thats why we have to continue to love them, and turn the other cheek, because if we ever start feeling like most of them, then this country would really be a mess. God calls for us to love our enimes, pray for them that despitefully use you and persecute you. Bless those that curse you.

I agree with everything that has been said. This was attempted murder in cold blood, and proven by his confession to be pre-meditated. I don’t think there is any need for a psych evaluation. He did the crime and admitted to it, his remarks and confessions were heard by many, and there is no investigation that needs to be done. This is just a slap on the hand, a bad sign in these times when we would have expected our country to come farther than the bigot-fueled hatred and violence of so many years ago.
But I also have to agree with The Truth Speaker. Hatred and Racism knows no color. While it does seem as if the media reports more hate crimes involving whites hurting or killing blacks, I am certain that there are just as many instances of the reverse or crimes involving other races that aren’t reported as often. The media is blinded and manipulated and they do this for the news angle; we must understand that.
With that said though, it is time to stand against this kind of attitude again. our organizations should be finding ways to help this woman receive real justice. Her family and lawyers should be pushing for more severe charges, and the black community needs to make it known that we will NOT stand for this injustice any longer. This country is too overrun with corruption and racism, a country that was built on the backs of our ancestors and other minorities.
But it is not only us. All minorities need to speak out and be heard about the injustices done to them. This country is not only black and white, but a melting pot of many colors and races. All of us are the sons and daughters of kings and queens, chiefs and tribal leaders. All of us need to stand together against the tyranny of the white-entitlement mentality! I encourage all of you to do what you can to push this message, in a NON-violent and NON-ignorant way. If you seek to inflict and uphold violence or harm or oppression, you are no better than Thomas Cosby!

I live in Palm Beach county and let me tell you RACISM IS ALIVE AND WELL here (as well as other places) but moving from up north the experiences i’ve had are real eye openers. A white man will get off for this type of offense and a Black man would go to jail without bail. You and I both know that JUSTICE TENDS TO BE BLIND – THE SCALES ARE UNBALANCED unfortunately it the world that we live in. We must protect our families (personal and extended)
