Former NBA Star-Turned-Jazz Musician Loses Part of Leg
August 28th, 2008Wayman Tisdale hopes procedure stops bone cancer
Ex-NBA player Wayman Tisdale has undergone a partial amputation of his right leg, in hopes that it prevents the spread of bone cancer. Tisdale, who worked the paint for Indiana, Sacramento and Phoenix before beginning a successful career as a jazz bassist, discovered the disease after he fell and broke the same leg early last year. He announced plans to undergo the procedure on his Web site before it was reported as a successful operation this week: “This may sound drastic, but I have put it in God’s hands and now have peace, knowing that this is the best way to put this disease in check.” Tisdale, 44, plans to resume touring and promoting his latest album Rebound, which he says was inspired by the health challenge.

GOD NEVER PUTS MORE ON YOU THAN YOU CAN BEAR. BE ENCOURAGED AND KNOW YOU WILL BE IN MY PRAYERS. GOD BLESS YOU. MWAH!
Wayman I happen to be a new fan of yours and I love your music, you are so talented and you will always be a great musician as long as the good Lord breaths breath in your lungs and I’m sorry for your misfortune. But remember what the word of the Lord said if your right arm offend you cut it off, so if that leg was a burden then you didn’t need it. You don’t sing with your leg you have a glorious voice and you’re a angel in my eyes. So you just keep on singing your heart out because you are a chosen gifted vocalist and guitarist. May God be with you throughout your recovery, so you can put that angelic voice of yours back on sound tracks. After all you still have a leg so you haven’t changed. What you did with two legs you can do with one and then some. So keep singing and playing your guitar like nothing ever happened. Their is a purpose for everything in this life and I’m positive that the outcome of what happened is all for the best. If you will do one thing for me I will be so happy. Will you please have someone email me of your next musical event so I could be there to rejoice with you. May the God of peace stay with you and you will be in my prayers. In your healing process you just keep on putting smiles on your fans faces. LOL and relaxation. We Love You Wayman Tisdale you have been healed.
Oh yeah Wayman I forgot to mention that I’ve been in remission for cancer since 2000 and the type of cancer I had has a 10 year survival rate. I also had to have some internal and external body parts removed. I’m a better woman and proud mother and grandmother. In 2010 I will have beaten the dreaded decease. But in my heart I believe God healed me and that cancer is gone and will never resurface. Prayer changed things ever since the day I was diagnosed. Faith was the key. Keep the faith Wayman cause you have been healed! LOL, yours truly Savannah aka Encredabol 47 years old
