No It will not work!!!! Leave The Valley just where it is!!!! We will not just stand and let him take our University and merge it with anybody else. This plan should be allowed to fall in the nearest trash can as soon as possible.
What took so long, students will be better served & ineffective instrustors can be weeded out!
This is a bad idea let those schools remain historic!!
It dont matter anyway, these schools aint even accredited. Thats why real people go to them white schools. obama wouldnt even send his daughters to no HBCU. I puts money on that.

How times have changed, Not to long ago, Blacks couldn”t go to; your big white, schools. Now, it”s about saving MONEY. Only time will tell.
No, this will not work at all. Now, i’ve always attended white colleges and universities, however, jackson state, alcorn state, tougaloo, and i guest MS valley are great schools and to take that heritage away from mississippi, will be a disgrace to the state and the united states. The best way to properly handle funding for these institutions is to merge the lowest testing, graduating, and enrollement community colleges in MS. We have enough of those, so why not just merge some of those? Why do black schools have to suffer? I can write on and on about this, but I am going to stop here and just say this is wrong.
Why do Black Schools have to suffer in the name of saving money. I’ve been to
an Ivy League School and to a predominantly Black State School. These schools should be available to African Americans. They nurture and prepare students that wouldn’t get that effort towards them elsewhere. And Black Schools produce more Masters and PHD level students. At the Ivy league school I went to I was totally ignored by the teachers and I really did not feel welcome. Every educational institution in the State should bear these financial problems equally. Save HBCU’s. Its no secret Black students do better at Black schools because they don’t have to deal with racism from their professors or peers. Obama should send his girls to Spelman. They produce Drs. Lawyers and all of the above.
Know what you’re talkin about before u say something stupid, those schools are accredited!!!
When I read this headline I knew it had to have been a Governor from Mississippi or Alabama to suggest some @#$% like that!!!! Wait one min what states ranks last in Education let me guess MS and who’s next AL. Those crakers don’t give a @#$% about us! Tell him to merge So Miss and Ole Miss to save money….
@Zeke, How do you know whether or not the schools have accreditation or not. I would also like to know what you mean by real people. Reading your post lets us all know that you could benefit from another english class. Whether the school has accreditation or not. Let’s start supporting our HBCU’s instead of degrading them.
I am a student at one of the universities mentioned in this story and i can proudly say that ALL THREE of these prestigious and historic institutions are fully accredited. Speak what you know instead of just your ignorant opinion. We should all give HBCUs our full support.
