Hate-monger Blasts Away In Tennessee Church.
July 28th, 2008Jim D. Adkisson allegedly shot to death two people and seriously wounded five others. Knoxville , Tenn. , Police are trying to determine whether to charge a madman with a hate crime who busted into a church and blasted away, killing two people and leaving five others in serious or critical condition. People scurried under pews or ran from the church as 58-year-old Jim D. Adkisson began firing, witnesses said. But Greg McKendry, 60, who was killed in the melee, is being hailed as a hero because “he stood in front of the gunman and took the blast to protect the rest of us,” Barbara Kemper, a member of the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, told The Associated Press. Also killed was Linda Kreager, 61, died at the University of Tennessee Medical Centre a few hours after the shooting, a city spokesman told AP. Witnesses said that many of the 200 congregants, who had gathered at the church watch a play, pounced on Adkisson and detained him until the police arrived. Kemper told police that said that the alleged shooter shouted before he fired his shotgun. “It was hateful words. He was saying hateful things,” she said, refusing to repeat what the gunman said. Adkission’s motivation is unknown. The church, which promotes social progressive work and desegregation, among what many would consider liberal issues, has provided sanctuary for political refugees, fed the homeless and founded a chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, AP reports, citing the church Web site. The FBI is assisting with the investigation, in case it is deemed a hate crime, according to AP. Watch the video below.
No one is discussing that this church welcomes openly gay individuals. This gunman, although wrong in my opinion, believed he was carrying out God’s will. Let us all pray for understanding of God’s Word. God’s opposition to certain life choices DOES NOT justify this kind of violence.

You totally underestimate blacks, we are not ALL financially struggling. But you wouldn’t know that would you? I love you too QueeNDawnLand…. But if you just give love and no understand with it then you wont know how to love. It is easy to say just love and respect one another but when you have people or a persn that don’t know how to love . It become your duty to hear why they feel that way, and if possible let them know how they are sounding. When I debate with UMLAW I don’t hate him I have to brake his thoughts down and feed it back to him, or anybody else. And after awhile they start to hear how they sound, and some time you reach them and some times you don’t, but I and you should be DAMED if you don’t stand up for your Race and that id the Human Race , but when it becomes the color of your skin or African Americans. then yes I will take a stance to defend you and I if you are of African American . REMBER you have people on this site that may not ever have any dealings with African Americans and get there views and understanding from someone that do not like us , I will check it!

Surely this man will plead insanity. I hope the citizens of the state of TN ensures that he never see the light of day outside of prison. I agree with a previous comment that this man is pure evil!
I know he was wrong to do this but we are not judges so live this in God’s hand and the authorities, and start praying for the people of that church specially for the victim’s family.
You this is a sad thing, people is gona hate each other regardless of their color. you have whites hatin some whites and blacks hatin some blacks. hate is in all nationalities against one another we need to learn to love one another and embrace the ones that are tryin to tell or show us in some way that they just want to be loved. you can’t take hate out of a person, only God can and when his wrath hits the haters the all Hell is gonna break loose. My so called husband is always talkin about how he hates white people cause they did black people wrong true they did some horrific things to us and they are paying for the things they did slowly but we can not live in this world with hate in our hearts and always wanting to kill because what went on centuries ago. we have to pray for those that trespass against us, the ones that do evil towards us. We learn never do evil towards evil, because what is that going to prove or solve it’s just gonna get you in a world of trouble. we can not make a person love you if they do not want to. Only thing you can do for them is pray for them and God will see it through.

As a Christian woman, I don’t like the thought that people aren’t safe in the House of the Lord anymore. I used to think church and school were the safest places to be; NOT SO ANYMORE. What a sad thought!! This world is surely at its end and I pray that everyone will be ready when Jesus comes back.

Jim D. Adkisson made heroes out of those who he tried to silence and ruined what is left of his life.
I pray for the families,who had family members killed,and one’s that are wombed,but overall my prayer’s are for the entire Members of the Church. This just show you how hateful and sick peoples can be when you proclaim to be a liberal, trying to feed the hungry,take care of the sick,and many other things. I truly believe that if you could compare Jesus to any Political Party, in which you can’t because Jesus is the Son of God, but if you could, than Jesus is a Liberal,because Liberal’s try to do what Jesus did when he walked the Earth,and Jesus went even further by stating in his Father Word, that we will be Judged by how we treat the lease of these’s, speaking of the Poor in substance, Heart,and Spirit.
