Hate-monger Blasts Away In Tennessee Church.

July 28th, 2008

Jim D. Adkisson allegedly shot to death two people and seriously wounded five others. Knoxville , Tenn. , Police are trying to determine whether to charge a madman with a hate crime who busted into a church and blasted away, killing two people and leaving five others in serious or critical condition. People scurried under pews or ran from the church as 58-year-old Jim D. Adkisson began firing, witnesses said. But Greg McKendry, 60, who was killed in the melee, is being hailed as a hero because “he stood in front of the gunman and took the blast to protect the rest of us,” Barbara Kemper, a member of the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, told The Associated Press. Also killed was Linda Kreager, 61, died at the University of Tennessee Medical Centre a few hours after the shooting, a city spokesman told AP. Witnesses said that many of the 200 congregants, who had gathered at the church watch a play, pounced on Adkisson and detained him until the police arrived. Kemper told police that said that the alleged shooter shouted before he fired his shotgun. “It was hateful words. He was saying hateful things,” she said, refusing to repeat what the gunman said. Adkission’s motivation is unknown. The church, which promotes social progressive work and desegregation, among what many would consider liberal issues, has provided sanctuary for political refugees, fed the homeless and founded a chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, AP reports, citing the church Web site. The FBI is assisting with the investigation, in case it is deemed a hate crime, according to AP.  Watch the video below.

I still don’t understand why someone would want to bring such trauma and destruction to a house of God….
And why are the police wondering if they should charge the man or not?! HE KILLED TWO PEOPLE!!!
I hope that the injured victims recover well and that the people killed rest in peace

Today you will we hear so many reasons why people don’t belive in God, how and why they fell from Grace of the Lord. The person that done this would be such a person . You have such people on this site People like UMLAW… Who will come on the site today and defend his hatred for the and African Americans, You can become this person UMLAW. Just as the Korean young man that killed those college students your mind set will lead you to destruction on day.

I am an advocate for a new term that should be introduced in the judicial system. It is called “Hate murder/manslaughter/ and/or abuse. I think adding the word hate to the offense will end all of this confusion regarding hate crimes. A hate crime alone is similar to a misdemeanor compared to murder. So, I think that the government (jury/legislative system) should combine the term with the offense to add even harsher penalties. It is apparent that what he was stating was hate terms before he killed. So, I would call this a Hate Murder. It should carry the maximum penalty in that state, plus the hate crime’s penalty.

GOD PLEASE HELP US!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE SHOULD REMEMBER THAT GOD SAID IN THE TEN COMMANDANTS THAT HE GAVE TO MOSES; THOU SHALT NOT KILL. YOU KNOW THAT IT IS TIME FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO REALLY PRAY. BECAUSE IF WE DON’T GET SERIOUS ABOUT THIS SORRY TO SAY THAT THINGS ARE ONLY GOING TO GET WORST. AND IF A MAN DO THE CRIME HE SHOULD DO THE TIME NO MATTER WHAT. THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO SAY IT THIS MAN KILLED TWO PEOPLE AND WOUNDED OTHERS AND HE NEEDS TO GO TO JAIL FOR IT. THEIR IS NO REASON HE SHOULD NOT HAVE ALREADY BEEN CHARGED FOR WHAT HE DID. DON’T WANT TO BE PREJUDICE BUT HAD THAT BEEN A BLACK PERSON HE WOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN CHARGED………..

I believe that the Church was Universalist Unitarian which puts it very much on the fringe of the Church Militant, as it denies Christ’s divinity.

The group is pretty whitebread: as Mort Sahl put it they are the guys that burn question marks on your lawn.

I think we will have to wait and not rush to judgment on this one, if only for our own health and credibility. I think that we all should follow the story, because it might be a part of a larger trend against the political church.

Lynn: how dare you say the garbage that you do? I DON’T HATE AFRICAN AMERICANS!! Your comprehension skills are too remedial to understand this. You’re the one that hates other races…HYPOCRITE. The Vtech gunman was deranged, and had many mental issues. His race had nothing to do with it.
Get back to your minimum wage job and stop calling people out…you’re out of line.

This country was founded on racism. It seems that it has never grown up. Every day we hear of some racist event, whether it be from the Police, or some madman, or people who simply hate for the sake of hatred. From the perspective of belief, why does “God” allow such things to go on in a place of worship? I don’t understand how a Merciful Father allows people to be slaughtered like this. Truly no man regardless of how much hatred is in his heart, is stronger than an Almighty Creator. Moses parted the seas based on his connection with the Divine. Where is that kind of connection and power today? It is heartbreaking to still see this kind of hatred. We can talk about belief and all manner of things, but something has to be done. If there is a Divinity, with angels, and cherubim, and seraphim and such, then they need to come to our aid. This might sound unreasonable or foolish but it is only because people no longer expect miracles, which the ancient people considered natural law. Simeon Toko told the Belgian Army in the 1950’s that they only had a certain amount of years to remain in his country. At the end of that period cherubim came out of the earth and drove them away. There are still people alive who saw it. What about us? There has to be some kind of response from somewhere as we are murdered and abused mercilessly all over this world. It is out of hand. I asked someone a few weeks ago, how would our nation look if millions of African American men had not been lynched and butchered by Caucasians in this country. What is the true impact of that on our people? We might not ever know, but I think about them because they are my fathers and brothers. It has been too long and it has cost us more than the world can pay.
