Hip-hop Mayor’s Sex-text Nightmare About To Get Worse

As the defense team for Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick prepares to beat back charges that he lied about his relationship with his longtime chief of staff, prosecutors are planning to roll out a whole new string of sexy text messages showing that cheating on his wife was a way of life. The so-called “Hip-hop Mayor” is currently facing a single perjury charge – that he lied under oath regarding his alleged affair with Christine Beatty. The case against Kilpatrick centers largely around the numerous sexually explicit text messages he sent to Beatty, who served as his chief of staff from 2002 until January 2008 when she resigned amid the scandal. But the bulldog-tough D.A. in the case, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy, is picking through a mound of other Kilpatrick text messages – five year’s worth – hoping to find other evidence that Beatty wasn’t the only woman the married mayor was seeing on the side. “I’ll put the defense on notice, we’re about to file an amended warrant and complaint to amend the counts that relate to conspiracy as it relates to testimony about having a sexual relationship with the codefendant,” Assistant Prosecutor Robert Moran told The Detroit Free Press. “We’re going to amend to add the language ‘and others.’ We’ve uncovered other evidence.” The newspaper recently reported that a review of Kilpatrick’s trial testimony uncovered proof of additional affairs. “In addition to denying an affair with Beatty, the mayor denied having sex with an unidentified Jamaican woman at a barbershop,” it states. “One of the mayor’s former bodyguards had also accused him of meeting a woman at the Lofts apartments in Detroit for a late-night liaison. Kilpatrick was not asked directly about that allegation at trial.” As one might expect, lawyers for Kilpatrick and Beatty are perturbed. James Thomas, who represents Kilpatrick, expressed disappointment with the prosecutors’ plan of attack but would not elaborate on the revised case, according to the Free Press. Mayer Morganroth, Beatty’s attorney, call Moran’s comments “outrageous.” District Judge Ronald Giles has yet to rule on whether the content of the 14,000 text messages will become part of the public court file. “But they don’t even care,” Morganroth said of prosecutors. “They just want to get stuff out there any way they can to taint the jury. It’s outrageous but they do it anyway, whether it’s true or not, whether the information is privileged or whether it’s sealed or not.”
Um people who are FROM Michgan and NOT from it has nothing to do with an Clinton scandal cheating on his wife! It has to do with him lying under oath and doing other scandalous stuff while being a mayor…Her and him comitted while he was in office, from firing people and hiring people like U of M law said……THANK YOU whoever u are for explaining that…Black people it is not always about COLOR black and white….It is about how he runs the city, HE IS RUNNING INTO the GROUND…with outlandish spending and his lying…You have to ask yourself HOW IS HELPING DETROIT????? It is in TURMOIL, HOW can you vote for someone like that when he is not helping BUT hurting the city..The city has lost HIGH SCHOOLS , PEOPLE are losing jobs….give it up IT IS about him being a good MAYOR which he is not…THINK ABOUT UR FUTURE not jus because hes young and black!!!!!!!!! WAKE UP AS SPIKE LEE SO ELOQUENTLY PUT IT!!!!!!!!! ANd Im not jus any black person trying to be on the white folks side….I go to FAMU a black college ..KWAME KILPATRICK AND HIS WIFE’S ALUMNI , so Im all for black folks making it …….BUT THE RIGHT BLACK FOLKS not jus because theyre black…..OBAMA is ALL about his business not jus because hes black BUT HE WANTS A CHANGE!!!!!! As a person who actually lives in the state of Michigan, I think many people are forgetting a woman did lose her life over this nonsense the mayor is involved with. And again, he is the MAYOR of a “major” American city! He shouldn’t be involved in stuff like this, he should be trying to set an example for other people to follow by, not be involved in ‘mafia-esque’ activities.
And I am From Detroit…..I jus want to see a turn around in Detroit……..People that have wrote at the top that Detroit is doing better…NO IT IS NOT!!!! when more young people like myself are not moving away to find jobs or raise a family( out of Detroit, or Michigan) THEN THATS when its doing better! Kids arent in high school in Detroit because of the city is doing so good……RIGHT?! and we have NO Law ENFORCEMENT because the city is doing so GOOD…RIght?! and the ECONOMY is doing GREAT there……RIGHT?! ………..UM NO IT ISNT
First let me get this out of the way. Kwame was wrong for cheating on his wife we all agree. It was a very stupid thing to do. But let us not forget that we wouldn’t even know about this if it wasn’t for that “PUNK” lawyer Stafani, who represented the police officers, for leaking this to the “Press” in the first place. He had agreed in private not to do this. Yet this “WHITE PUNK’S” intentions were to do this all along. Kwame got punked by this punk and we gleefully jump down Kwame’s throat. Kwame is suppose to be smarter than this, but apparently he isn’t. In no other city does the media, instead of reporting the news of this matter, is the engine behind it. Only in Detroit. Black politicians wake up. You can’t do what the white man does. HAVEN’T YOU LEARNED THAT YET. He might be the mayor of a black city but he’s not the one who truly runs it. He didn’t play ball the way those who run this city wanted him too and now he’s paying the price. We can’t be blind to understanding how this system really works, or are we?
Please my people, don’t squabble over the Mayor’s morals (or lack thereof). The question is: Did he lie under oath? Answer: It seems to be YES. That is currently the only charge. Please let’s forget black treatment verses white treatment and ask ourselves about the law verses lawlessness. The mayor knew he would be held to a higher standard than his counterparts. This is not new territory for him. The hounding started BEFORE he was elected and it is wrong. None the less, the ONLY question remains, Did he lie?
When will someone tell Public, Famous, Black people that they are being prayed upon to make wrong choices? That they are being looked at harder than anyone else? When will they learn to check their ARROGANCE on another planet besides this one? And when will they learn that everyone isn’t happy for their SUCCESS? The sooner these realities are realized, the sooner Black men in such positions will stop ruining themselves.
The mayor made this mess for hisself and he has to deal with it. but we need to spend more time worrying about our families in the war, health care and things that matter, in the end this will pass and they will be getting on some one else nerves. he is wrong but who is perfect he should have just been honest. but it doesn’t seem like we have anymore honest brother out here anymore maybe not many.

just for your eyes only. If you’re going to cheat don’t get caught. It was
stupid for him to be texting thinking no one was every going to get a hold
of those messages.

Kwame K is a big loser who thinks he can lie to the public like his friend Bill C who lied right into a camera. Just because these people are public servants does not mean they are going to do the right thing. “Through one man sin entered the world.” What makes “Cry-me a river” Kilpatrick exception to this? No matter who takes office, the Gov’t will always be a big mess of contadictions, lies, cover-ups, and one uppers who don’t have a clue how to run things.
I’m so sick of thie mess. Who cares who he slept with, how is he managing the city? That’s his job right, lets measure him on that, forget the personal mess that’s surrounding him, that’s between him and Mrs. K.
