Personally I feel that this character has been created to divert our attention away from the real issue at hand. I do believe that there are quite a few rational and intelligent non-biased individuals still left in our societies, who will actually focus on this critical situation and come to a well deserved resolution. Every race commits crime from white to black, asians and latinos. What the hell is this targeting one race bulls**t. Haven’t we as people been through enough, why can’t we respect each others culture and stop looking down upon people. Also white people are crooks to they still money from innocent poor people and they commit fraud.

First of all my name is Susie Crawford and straight shooter is not the name of anyone I know. I am writing this to set the record straight. I dated Barry a year ago and broke it off when he threatened me and my family. I am white with three African American children this was never about race for me but, about Barry Washington being diagnosed by a psychologist in Marshall, Tx. homicidle and or suicidle and I have the records to prove it. Once again my name is Susie Crawford and that is the truth. Please don’t put me and my mother in this because as records show he is the unstable one. If anyone wants the prove in black and white i will be glad to show them the paper work.

I grew up in Tenaha and honestly I am sick of it being pointed out as a racist place. I dont understand why the media and the lawyers are making this a race issue. Can it really be a race issue if the two cops that are involved are black? Barry Washington and Fred Walker are african american. If you dont believe it look it up or call the city hall in Tenaha, they will tell you. Did I mention that the town is at least half black. I think it is awful that these two have been doing this to people any people. There are good people in this town, people that tried and tried to get it stopped but no one would listen. Do you know how hard it is to get cops to turn on other cops especially ones that are as decorated as Barry. He was a highway patrol for many years and he was known for getting drugs off the street. I have read several of the articles in various newspapers and watched the local news the only cop they ever mention or show is Randy Whatley who is white.

Tenaha is my hometown, and at one point and time in my life, I wasn’t afraid to admit it. Now, however, I try not to make it a discussion issue. I’m embarrassed at how the media has made Tenaha look. What people are failing to comment on is that it’s more than just Barry Washington that has caused the problems. The accusation that the complaintants were solicited by a council member is completely false. And who really cares how the complaint came to be anyway? The fact is that what they did was wrong and something needs to be done about it. There are some things that have been mentioned that need to be addressed. Yes, Fred Walker is a city marshal, but he is not listed in the complaint. Those listed are Assistant City Marshal , Constable, Mayor, and District Attorney. I may be leaving someone out, but it’s not Walker. Tenaha, as a whole, is not what I would consider to be a racist town. What people need to understand is that dirty cops come in all shapes, sizes and races, and unfortunately they’re known to be in all sizes of areas. Tenaha happens to have a couple. And to confirm what was doubted in an earlier blog, Barry Washington is a black man; not that it really matters. The facts are people are getting stopped, threatened w/ God knows what, and having thier personal belongings taken from them. Those are the facts, and they need to be handled. I mean, if I went up to a car and said, “give me your money.” I’d be arrested for robbery. The purpose of law enforcement is to “protect and serve,” not to bully and rob.

Well, where I’m from things like this happen everyday. Difference is we’re not a small town, but a big city, so it goes on without notice. Or at least we tend to try not to notice it. And what’s worse, it’s the black cops that does most of the extortion. I see them harrassing the young brothers. I’ve heard of stories of cops raiding houses without warrants and telling the people that if they gave them money or drugs they wouldn’t lock them up or pulling people over and checking them and taking there money because they couldn’t produce a check stub, or the fact that the same streets they are suppose to protect are the ones that they have there own crew of drug dealers on. And I reinerate that most of this is done by black cops. So the above story to me is wrong but not surprising. That hurts me more because as black people we can’t seem to get it together. All other races stand by each other except us. We will stand with another race before we help our own people. Even now as we comment on the above story, someone, somewhere is doing something hurtful to there black brethren. And we can try to say that because the economy is bad this is the reason why we attack one another; to survive! Truth be told we were doing this before the economy became the way it is.
I heard that the arresting officers of the story above were black. And that is no surprise to me. I recently had an incident involving my son. I had sent him to the store and immediately got an uneasy feeling. I walked down to the store where I saw cops sitting in a car. I went in the store and the cops followed behind me. When they got in the store they started checking my son. I informed them that I was his mother and asked what he had done. They said he was fidgeting in his pocket. Well, he’s in a store and he has to get his money, duh. At any rate, they didn’t find anything, but took him in because he did not have an ID, (the black cop’s idea). I was irate because here I am his mother, who didn’t have an ID on me by the way, telling them that he’s my son and they still handcuffed him and took him in. But that was their way of getting a black boy without a record into the system. What hurt me most was that I had to watch them take my son away in handcuffs. I say all this to say that harrassment by the police is not in one place but everywhere and that black folks should be more upset with the black cops who receive a little authority and forget where they came from. As black people who have had our heritage ripped from us so we really don’t know who we are, we need to stick together and learn to be tolerant of one another and learn that we have a lot more to offer than they would have us believe. We need to be united like all the other races. And for the person who thinks black people are the majority on welfare, I’m here to tell you that where I live out of the percentage of people on welfare only 39% are minorities, 10% are black. Which means the so called majority (white folks), make up 61%. Get your story right before you start pointing fingers.

I’m sorry for all the trouble I have caused on this blog. I really need my a$$ whipped for saying such stupid stuff to such beautiful black people.
