Imprisoned Quarterback Could Play In 2009
August 14th, 2008United Football League plans to recruit Michael Vick

Convicted dog-fighter and suspended NFL star Michael Vick could have a new home in a competing football organization. The former Atlanta Falcon, who’s serving a sentence for sponsoring illegal canine fights in Virginia, has apparently been courted behind bars. United Football League commissioner Michael Huyghue says his organization is “98 percent” sure Vick will play on one of its six teams during their debut season. Vick’s release from federal custody is expected in 2009.

I’m a big fan of M Vick and he desires another chance at life. Mr.Vick if u read this don’t ever place fame, glory, family, people b4 God bcause u c what happen it was just an eye opener for u and now everything will b alright. God is opening up doors everywhere 4 u. God bless u and your true family.
is that right the system in america rehab or the bible will the truth cime out
I GLAD THAT VICK WILL GET TO COME BACK. THEY DID HIM WRONG IN THE FIRST PLACE. THAT IS JUST ONE OF THE REASONS WHY WE ALL NEED TO VOTE TO MAKE A CHANGE.
I’m glad he will possibly given another chance to be a part of something that will make him happy and do a job that seems to be his talent. BUT I think that his stay in prison is bogus and stupid just for some animals. There are folks that have done hate crimes to blacks and are walking around free, there are rapists and molesters that are walking around free but yet he serves a long stupid sentence for having a dog fight just because of him being #1 BLACK and #2 his financial or “celebrity” status. BOOOOOOOOGUSSSSSSS!
Free VICK Free VICK can’t wait till u come home my dude the game aint the same without u. When u come home show these haters how BAD NEWZ gets down!!
I think one of the NFL Teams will pick him up.
I’m ok with Vick getting another chance if he has actually and truly changed his mind frame…this is not automatic. There you go with the deflecting blame once again. What he did was ILLEGAL!! Those animals were tortured…he made money on them…AND HE LIED, AND LIED, AND LIED, AND LIED ABOUT IT. And angela, IF there actually is a God, how do you know if Vick forgave him??
For those of you who compare what he did with hunting, your comprehension skills are way off…or you’re biased b/c vick is Black. Hunting is LEGAL…many times those animals are overpopulated…they are NOT TORTURED…and it is LEGAL. Wow
Great! He’s my home town hero, and he needs to get back into the swing of things. I believe he has learned a very valuable lesson and is ready to be among the free.
“how do you know if God forgave Vick” –what i meant to write
Go for it Mike, that is, unless you get a better offer.
@UMLAW do you think m.vicks is the only person that ever ran dog fighting, he’s not he was just made an example of. what he did was wrong… we KNOW THAT AND HE NOW REALIZES THIS AND IS ACDCEPTING HIS PUNISHMENT…. WHAT PUZZLES ME HOWEVER IS HOW YOU AND OTHERSW ARE SO OUTRAGED BY THE CRUEL TRATMENT OF ANIMALS BUT YOU DONT SEEM TO PROTEST THE TREATMENT BLACK PEOPLE WHO ARE HUMAN BEINGS ENDURED DURING SLAVERY TIMES, EVEN SENSELESS KILLINGS STILL BEING DONE TOWARDS OUR BLACK MEN BY THE POLICE DEPT……SHOOT A MAN 50 TIMES AND CALL IT JUSTIFIED, KILL A DOG AND CALL IT MURDER…….YEAH REAL FAIR UMLAW REAL FAIR…….
ima try this one more time a little shorter….MAYBE IT’LL GET POSTED. M VICK MADE A MISTAKE AND DOING AND ACCEPTING HIS TIME AND PUNISHMENT, BUT I DONT SEE UMLAW AND OTHERS PROTESTING THE TREATMENT OF SLAVES BY THE HANDS OF THE WHITE MAN AS THEY DO AABOUT DOGS LIFE BEING TAKEN, SHOOT A MAN 50 TIMES CALL IT JUSTIFIED, SHOOT A DOG AND CALL IT MURDER…I DONT CONDONE TE MISTREATMENT OF ANY ANIMALS, BUT HE DESERVES A SECOND CHANCE AND I HOPE HE GETS IT.. NO ONE IUS PERFECT EXCEPT GOD AND GOD FORGIVES YES HE DOES…….
I’m glad that Mike is getting another chance at a career in football. He deserves another chance. His whole life should not be destroyed because of this one incident. He committed a crime but he was also used as an example. People have commited more serious crimes and done no time. FYI: Dog fighting has not stopped.
UMLAW:
GOD will forgive anyone who sincerely repents and sins no more! EVEN YOU!!!
UMIaw…your mind frame is completely off from the jump sayin “if there is a dog”…If Mike asked for his sins to be forgave then God forgave him he his human and humans make mistakes…! We were doomed to sin when we were born into the world! Anyways the only reason he went through all that BS anyways was because he was one of the highest paid quarterbacks and he was Black!!! If anybody local get caught dogfighting they just get a ticket or citation. (Even though I’m against his fighting dogs I’m still against racial discrimmination of the imprisonment of Blacks!!!!) I can’t wait untl he gets out I hope a NFL team gives him another chance and he does better than before and he knows whose his real family and friends are!
**correction**I meant to say when you said “If there is a God”
PeeWee:
Stop committing crimes and then there would be a problem of imprisoning Blacks. You make it seem like all the Black men incarcerated are innocent…open your mind. The inner cities are where the biggest problems lie in terms of violent crimes. Which demographic makes up the inner cities??
Vick’s life should NOT be destroyed, but to say that he went through all that just because he was a rich Black athlete is deflecting blame…something many members of the Black community frequently is guilty of.
I don’t recall ever using the phrase ‘if there is a dog..’ Can you please find that for me? Saying that we are born to sin doesn’t do anything. Are you justifying what he did?? RESPONSIBILITY. He funded a dog fighting ring, AND he LIED TO THE FEDS AND PUBLIC ABOUT IT. DON’T LIE. DON’T LIE. He gave an interview once with a smile on when asked if he did it….’I AIN’T KNOW NOTHING BOUT THAT’ was his response. WTF…stop lying. Why would anyone believe him if he said he was sorry?? He’s sorry he got caught.
*would NOT be a problem of imprisoning…
*would NOT be a problem…’
*…frequently are guilty of.’
Mistakes are made every day. That’s why there are erasers on pencils. Now what he has to do is not be a repeater of the same mistake. He should use this second chance to do better.
Michael Vick deserves a second chance. I hope the Atlanta Falcons sign him back so he can play for the Falcons in 2010.
