Call him the “king of bling” or the “hip-hop hookup,” but for the next 2 ½ years, Jacob Arabov will be known as a federal prisoner after pleading guilty Tuesday to lying to prosecutors probing a multi-state drug ring. The 43-year-old Russian immigrant must also cough up $50,000 in fines and kick down the government to the tune of $2 million in forfeiture payment. “I feel ashamed that I broke the laws of this country, a country that has been so good for me,” Arabov said. “I will carry this shame for the rest of my life.” It could have been much worst for Abrabov, who authorities accused of conspiring to launder an estimated $270 million in profits for Detroit’s “Black Mafia Family” drug ring during the 1990s. At the recommendation of prosecutors, U.S. District Judge Avern Cohn imposed a minimum sentence of three years and one month. He lopped off another seven months from that, noting the defendant’s longtime charity work. He was arrested two years ago at his New York City jewelry store, which was frequented by many of the biggest names in the music industry. Do you think the sentence was fair?
OMG why is everybody so negative these days i dont care what race a person is, we all make mistakes.And did you not read the article the man was trying to help a black family get rich, that’s why you dummies will be broke for the rest of your miserable lives. Please he will spend less time for the crimes that the courts sentenced him to. From what I understand Federal prison is not that bad. It is compared to that of a college campus. I guess he will be transported to the same facility or similar to the one Michael Vicks is serving in for his crimes.

Did I understand that he was arrested 2 yrs ago. There was no mention of the amount of jail time he actually did, that time would come off his sentence, so in effect if he has done 2 yrs in jail, with good time and other time calculations he has no time left to do. How do you defraud the U.S. IRS for the tax money he did and conspire with known criminals and only get what he got. Sounds like corruption at the highest levels of our gov. to me. And no body cares.
Man i think this whole country is messed up cause everybody is money hungry and the DEA,CIA,FEDS,and Government are just a legal gangs and they ship the drugs over here in big boat loads from them drug lord cubans and the City/Town Dope Boys cook it up and get locked up for making a profit from something they brought over here.They jsut wish they could tax drug dealers.

Woooow…I’m still in shock…well at least he luk good for 43 years old…but wow…I think the judge went easy on him. But wooow…hey, we all gotta make money!!!! The key is to not get got if you’re in the wrong. It’s onlii breaking the law if u get caught, and he obviously wasn’t too smart with his money. But he’s old anyway, it’s not like he’s missing much of his life. I just hope he don’t drop the soap…
