Jesse Jackson Jr. Favored as Sen. Obama’s Replacement

Jesse Jackson

Jesse Jackson Jr. favored as Sen. Obama’s replacement. U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. is a favorite among likely voters to fill the Senate seat being vacated by President-elect Barack Obama, a poll indicates. A Zogby telephone poll conducted last week shows that among 10 possible candidates, 21 percent say they think Democratic Gov. Rod Blagojevich should appoint Jackson to the seat when Obama leaves it vacant in January to become president, United Press International is reporting. The only other potential candidate to get double-digit support was Tammy Duckworth, a former Democratic congressional candidate from Chicago who accompanied Obama in a reef laying ceremony in the Midwest city on Tuesday.  Fourteen percent of respondents said she should be appointed. In two prospective Senate races, Jackson would defeat Republican Congressman Ray LaHood by a 50 percent to 31 percent margin, the survey shows. The poll of 802 likely voters statewide has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.

Jesse Jr. Should most certainly get the nod, he’s the best man for the job. However Ms. Duckworth is also a good choice & should be used to replace Jackson in Congress.

It’s time for us all to STEP UP into our rightful place in America. Let’s use our EDUCATION to make a difference instead of just talking about it. This is our country too. Our work is not done now that we have voted now we have to help President elect Obama to fix this…..

I certainly think that the involvement as one of the national leaders of President elect Obama, should give him some sort of prize for his work. However, I have also heard that many don’t want him in the slot. Personally, i think that he has the experience from all his past years in the congress. I did hear that Jarrett is a possibility for selection to that post as well. She was and is very close to the Obama family as well as the campaign. Since I don’t live in Chicago, I’ll just keep watching to see who is selected to fill the seat.

To the above writer with the nasty comment:
Having attended university with J. Jackson, sr. I do resent his being referred to as a stupid anything. While he has erred therefore been proved human, he was quite instrumental in forging paths that led up to this historical event of the President-elect. While many of you sat on the sidelines and watched if you were even born at the time, I saw up close and personal all the work that J. Jackson, sr. did in this country. Sometimes it’s just best to discuss subjects of which you are aware.

When I first read Jessie Jackson I immediately thought of the dad. I am not nor have I ever been impressed with the father. To me he has always tried to make a name for himself by using others. I will never forget how supposedly when MLK Jr was shot Jessie was said to have rubbed MLK’s blood all over his clothes to give the appearance he was standing by his side when he was assassinated. And even if that is not true, there is just something about him that is sneaky and underhanded and we won’t even go into detail how he was messing around on his wife. But then like they say, what you do in the dark always comes to light…And on that note, when was the last time Jessie spent time with his illegitimate daughter?

IDIOT , JACKAZZ OR WHATEVER YOU ANSWER TO VINNIE:

WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? OBAMA’S PRESIDENCY WILL ENCOURAGE MORE BLACKS TO GET INVOLVED IN POLITICS WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!!! PEOPLE ARE NO LONGER SATISFIED WITH NOT KNOWING WHAT’S GOING ON IN GOVERNMENT AND FEELING HELPLESS. THE ELECTION HAS ALREADY MOTIVATED SOME BLACKS …WHY DO YOU THINK SO MANY BLACKS VOTED AND VOLUNTEERED AND REGISTERED OTHERS TO VOTE AND ATTENDED THE RALLIES, CONVENTION, ETC…BLACKS RESEARCHED THE ISSUES IN ORDER TO DISCUSS POLITICS MORE KNOWLEDGEABLY WITH OTHERS. IT IS ALREADY HAPPENING IN BLACK COMMUNITY WITH ALL AGES. WE ARE BECOMING MORE INVOLVED DUE IN LARGE PART TO PRESIDENT OBAMA’S CAMPAIGN. WE ARE PAYING ATTENTION AND LEARNING MORE THAN WE EVER CARED TO BEFORE!!!
THIS IS A FACT DEAL WITH IT IDIOT!!!!!

JESSIE JR IS THE BEST CHOICE. MAYBE BARACK CAN FIND SOME THING IN HIS CABINET FOR HER(TAMMY DUCKWORTH).

WE DID IT. YES WE CAN.

EDWIN said on November 14th, 2008

IF SOME WANT JJ JR. TO BE APPOINTED I SAY MORE POWER TOO YOU. BUT TO ME I DONT LIKE IT BECAUSE JJ. SENIOR HAS HATED PRES. BARAK SINCE DAY ONE, NOW HIS SON WANTS HIS SENATE SEAT. MUST BE SOME TYPE OF JOKE.
BUT TO DAVID BLOGGING WAS CREATED BY WHITE PEOPLE THAT LIKE TO HIDE, TO SPEAK THEIR MINDS. MOST WHITES KNOW IF THEY EXPRESSED THEMSELVES IN PUBLIC, AN ASS KIKKING WOULD SHUT THEM UP. SO REMEMBER DAVID WE ARE USE TO CRACKERS LIKE YOUR- SELF. HIDE AND RUN THEN SPEAK YOUR MIND. GOOD JOB.

Please make note of the misspelling of a word in the captioned comments:
The comment about the other candidate who received double digit recommendations, Tammy Duckworth who accompanied President Elect Obama in a WREATH laying ceremony, not a reef laying ceremony. Ebony, watch your mechanics in relaying and printing the news.

Since when does the son of someone bear the brunt of the Father? In case you did not know, Jessie Jackson, Jr. is a different human being from his father with different thoughts and his own intellectual ideas. Just because he is the offspring of Jessie Jackson, Sr., does not make him the same as his Father. Do you recall an event when JJ, Sr. made an off color remark about the President Elect? Well, it was his son, JJ, Jr. who denounced the comments made by his Father and stated that they were uncalled for and inappropriate. The Jacksons have been close friends of the Obamas for many years. Michelle Obama and Santina Jackson are the very best of friends from childhood. What is wrong with any of this? Nothing as I thought.

Ebaby said on November 14th, 2008

Lynn, if you were capable of understanding what I said, you would have comprehended that I was not dissing the son, but rather the father. And I agree, children should not bejudged by their parents nor should anyone else for that matter be judged by someone else. So instead of getting defensive you should read the entire post, digest it and then make your comments. I wish JJ Jr all the best, because like Clarence noted above, it was JJ Jr who immediately distanced himself from his father’s comments and publicly stated that his father was wrong.

Cocoa59 said on December 3rd, 2008

I believe that Jessie Jackson Sr. did a good job raising his son. His son has followed in his foot steps. I was always told that you will know what you have instilled in your children because it will all come out when they get grown. So my hat is off to the father Jessie and his son Jessie Jr. Let’s show some love for one another. The post David gave has set a bad spirit on this page. Love one another.
