Judge Orders Former NFL Baller to Pay Up

Former Denver Broncos running back Travis Henry, who is now jobless and facing a possible prison term on drug charges, must continue to pay $3,000 a month to one of his nine children, whom he fathered with nine different women. On Thursday, a DeKalb County judge rejected Henry’s request to halt support payments for his 5-year-old son. Attorney Randall M. Kessler had argued during the daylong hearing that Henry can no longer afford to pay the $3,000 because he’s no longer in the league and could be heading to prison. But Robert Wellon, arguing on behalf of Jameshia Beacham, the mother of Henry’s son, told Superior Court Judge Clarence Seeliger that the 30-year-old former super star had spent millions on jewelry, cars, a new home, and other luxuries. There were also many other items that Henry refused to identify, saying they had to do with his impending drug trial. Last fall, Henry was arrested in Colorado on felony cocaine possession charges. He is scheduled to be arraigned in April, his attorneys said. He is currently under house arrest in Colorado, having paid a $400,000 bond. When asked by Wellon why he had made several cash withdrawals of up to $70,000 after getting cut by the Broncos, Henry offered only, “All those big withdrawals have to do with my [criminal] case.” He went on to acknowledge the mistakes he has made. “Now that I look back on my life, not all of my decisions were good, and now I’m paying for it,” Henry said. “I just want to make good. … I want to take care of my children. I want to get my life back together.”
I can’t stand when men make babies and then don’t want to help take care of them. He should have thought of that before he got into trouble. My son’s dad is in the NFL also and he thinks its ok not to do want he should and get away with it. I’m not having it anymore. I tried to let him do it his way but now I’m going to handle it my way. He go around buying all these expensive things and can’t properly help take care of his son. These men are geting away with too once they get in the league. If you can make a baby you can help take care of it.

It just kills me that they can spent gazillions of dollars for any and everything that they want. But when it comes down to payments for support for their children we have to take them to court incur cost for that along with keeping a roof over the child’s head. I get so sick of this. these guys make and spend Millions and still won’t act or do right by their children and then expect sympathy. It is not happening. GET IT TOGETHER. Cgildren are not pay checks if you had the child in hopes that you would keep him you are a fool. If you had the child cause you thought that having the child would force him to man up your kidding your selves. If you had the child in hopes that it can be a extra source of income you have become a statistic. Its more than a black thing it has turned into the way young women figure out who they are. You can’t have kids because you think your in love, for a moment. You should make kids in love!
Clearly “Another Female” don’t know the situation. Yes there are women out there that use their kids as extra paychecks a month but I have a job and go to school. I don’t need his dad nor want him. We were together in love at one point but that love was lost. Just because our love is gone doesn’t mean my son should be caught on the bad end. First and foremost a man should take care of his kid/kids no doubt about that!!!! Excuse me Olounwa, but who heck do you think you are? First all do not talk about my black men, because they all are not the same. My fiance’ is a GOOD BLACK MAN! He does not have any children, he wants them with me and he takes care of me! Not all black men go around having babies with a bunch of different women! Just because this fool did he does not represent every black man. My Daddy has five children and he took care of us, he did not go around having children with every female. My fiance’ best friend went to court and got full custody of his three girls, and yes he is BLACK! My brother went to court and got FULL CUSTODY of his son, and yes HE IS BLACK! So please do not get it twisted that ALL black man are bad fathers or bad men! Women need to wake up if he did not take care of his other children what makes you think that yours is special! If a man has children with different women than that is the man you need to stay away from!
