Judge Slaps Secret Service in Racism Case
December 22nd, 2008Judge slaps Secret Service in racism case. The Secret Service scoffed at a federal court ruling that it turn over documents to the plaintiffs who are suing the agency for alleged racial discrimination in the eight-year-old case. Ignoring the decree, the judge said, undermined the ability of the African-American agents to put on their case. For its defiance, U.S. Magistrate Judge Deborah A. Robinson, has barred the Secret Service from introducing rebuttal evidence during the civil trial. The penalty is just short of awarding victory to the Black agents, who say they were denied promotions because of their race. “No reasonable search for the documents responsive to plaintiff’s requests … was ever conducted” despite federal rules requiring it, nine separate court orders by Robinson demanding it and three previous penalties imposed by Robinson. The agency’s “substantial and prejudicial” stubbornness “virtually mandates a finding that defendant’s noncompliance … was willful,” Robinson wrote. Ed Donovan, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office said that the matter is “far from over,” adding that he will appeal the decision. Robinson’s punishment doesn’t equal a guilty ruling, but the agency says she might as well have found it guilty since it prevents the Secret Service “from presenting evidence that particular promotion decisions were made for nondiscriminatory reasons and from presenting statistical evidence to rebut claims that bias affected an entire class of employees,” The Associated Press reports.

Racism within federal agencies happen and so does black on black crime in federal agencies. When I say black on black crime in federal agencies — you have light complected blacks in management positions that only promote those who look like them and wear their hair straight whereas dark complected candidates are totally ignored and passed over. It happens in Social Security on a daily basis. Not only are the whites who are selecting officials racist we also have blacks in the same position that are practicing the same thing — being judge by the color of the skin and not the content of their character. So should you go to work for SSA and you have a college degree or are a veteran — expect the hate from some in upper management. I guess they are so insecure with their high school diploma and 30+ years of federal service.
White Selecting officials within the federal government are not the only ones that are racist; there are black selecting officials who promote other blacks solely based on the hue of their skin — meaning if you are light complected and have no managerial and/or people skills — 9 times out of 10 that person will get the job –while the darker complected sister with education, managerial and people skills is passed over. So it’s just not whites that are doing this — our own is doing it to us as well.

RACISM AMONGST BLACKS IS NOT JUST BY FAIR SKINNED PEOPLE, IT HAPPENS WITHIN THE MANY TONES OF THE AFRICAN AMERICAN FAMILY. I COULD BE WRONG, BUT I BELIEVE A LOT OF IT HAS TO DO WITH THE FACT SOME OF THEM HAVE GIVEN THEIR PEOPLE A CHANCE AND WAS LET DOWN. EITHER THE PERSON DID NOT REPORT TO WORK ON TIME, NOT DOING THEIR WORK AS AS INSTRUCTED OR SIMPLY JUST BELIEVING THEY HAVE IT MADE BECAUSE SO, AND SO IS MY BOSS. THESE TYPES OF BEHAVIORS ARE RECOGNIZED BY THE OTHER RACES, AND EVEN THOUGH THE SAME BEHAVIORS ARE BEING DISPLAYED AMONGST THE OTHER RACES, WE AS BLACKS STAND OUT AND ARE CALLED ON, WHEN THEY FEEL ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
RACISM WILL ALWAYS EXIST, IT JUST THAT WE HAVE TO KEEP MOVING IN THE RIGHT AND POSITIVE DIRECTIONS AND TO GIVE 110% OF OURSELVES ON A DAILY BASIS.
SELF VALUE MEANS MORE TO ME THAN SOMEONE GIVING ME AN Y RECOGNITION. IT WILL PAY OFF IN DUE TIME.

I’m not sure if you read 7thDean’s ENTIRE comment, but it doesn’t sound like she/he is trying to tell ‘African Americans’ how to live. In fact, 7thDean seems to be ‘African American’ as well…AND also seems to have made a very valid point.
SOME (yes, SOME) African Americans implement a ’selective’ system that is prejudiced against their own ethnic group (unfortunately). SOME whites (yes, not ALL whites) are notorious for this against African Americans as well.
