Judges Ponder O.J.’s Bail Request

Could O.J. Simpson get out of a Nevada prison while he appeals his armed robber and kidnapping convictions? Simpson attorney, Yale Galanter, says that if anybody deserves bond it’s his client because “he’s got nowhere to go, nowhere to hide.” The 62-year-old Simpson, whose 1994 acquittal in the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, widened the racial gulf in America, is serving up to 33 years in prison after a jury convicted him of masterminding and perpetrating a hotel room robbery of two sports memorabilia dealers in Las Vegas. The NFL Hall of Famer, Heisman Trophy winner, former sportscaster and actor, who is serving his time at Lovelock Correctional Center in northern Nevada, will be eligible for parole in 2017. Because of the length of the sentence, the three judges pondering the bail request seemed reluctant to grant it. “Considering the term of Simpson’s sentence, combined with his current age, Simpson is realistically looking at a possible life sentence,” Clark County Dist. Atty. David Roger said in court briefs. “Therefore, a flight to avoid a lengthy sentence has to be considered tempting.” The judges also stated that the violent nature of the crime makes granting bail tougher. Simpson’s appeal centers on claims that the trial judge, Jackie Glass, made several egregious mistakes, for example blocking the defense from fully questioning potential jurors and witnesses, and that the mostly White jury lacked diversity.

O.J. WILL BE SET FREE AFTER THE NEXT TIME HE GOES TO COURT!! DAM SHAME WHAT THE DONE TO HIM , THE JUDGE MIND WAS ALLREADY MADE UP BEFORE HE WENT TO COURT “GUILTY FROM BEING FOUND NOT GUILTY IN THE KILLING OF YOUR WIFE AND LOVER”.
While I agree that O.J. was probably presumed guilty at the start of the trial, HE DID THIS TO HIMSELF!! O.J. only dated white girls once he got rich. He surrounded himself with white folks. I’m not against interracial dating. All I’m saying is that’s what he wanted to do!! Now he has to deal with all of the reprecussions (sp) that come along with it. I believe he killed his ex-wife and her lover, but he beat the charge. How many white people have beat charges just because they had $$? Well O.J. had the $$ so he beat the charge. He should have known that they were out to get him anyway. Like I said HE DID THIS TO HIMSELF!!
Keep the animal caged! He doesn’t have sense enough to stay out of trouble. When he got off for killing Nicole Simpson and her lover, he should of went into hiding forever. No, instead, he goes and does something else stupid. He doesn’t deserve to be out. I think he has a brain tumor from football from all the simple minded things he does! He is his own worst enemy.
