D.L. Hughley Quits CNN

Comedian D.L. Hughley has announced that he’ll leave the show he has hosted for a major news station after just five months. “D.L. Hughley Breaks the News” debuted last fall on CNN, but the original “King of Comedy” has reportedly experienced travel challenges. He’ll leave the humor-oriented current events show, which he tapes in New York, at the end of this month. The network states: “D.L. approached CNN about being permanently based in Los Angeles, where his family lives. To accommodate this, we agreed upon a new role where he will be a contributor for the network based in Los Angeles. We are eager to continue our relationship with D.L., who is a tremendous talent and a valued colleague.”
I LIKE HIM BUT!! I DON’T THINK HE WAS REALLY DONIG A GOOD JOB IN GRILLING SOME PEOPLE ON CERTAIN TOPICS!! HE HAS A PERFECT SHOW AND SETTING TO EASE THE PEOPLE WHO COME ON HIS SHOW TO OPEN UP FOR BIG AND TOUGH QUESTIONS MIXED WITH A LITTLE HUMOR. i WATCHED HIM A FEW TIMES AND HE SEEMED A LITTLE OUT OF TOUCH WITH HIS TALENT AND DID NOT KNOW HOW TO WORK HIS ENVIRONMENT .
D.L. is a very intelligent man, and I loved him as a panelist on the Bill Maher show. Unfortunately, I don’t think he was strong enough as a host to keep my interest from week to week. He didn’t look comfortable doing it. I hope he goes back to doing what he does best, stand-up comedy.
I do like DL and I am sure other opportunities will open up for him. I did enjoy watching him but I do think the show needed to be developed more plus he needs to be with the family.
I’m glad because many of D.L. Hughley’s jokes were insulting to Black people, and I believe that this position was not meant to last long – just long enough to make Black politicians appear incapable in the eyes of the public since Americans are the first to stereotype.
GOOD, now he see’s the light, know he know’s why they gave him that show! it was to make joke’s about the PRESIDENT! move on HUGHLEY, you are a smart man, take those earring’s out of you ear, cut your hair, take POLITICAL SCIENCE and run for a political office, make us PROUD!!
Are you kidding? It’s CNN! Do you really think they want Black politicians to appeara incapable. Why must skin color be injected into everything. I only watched the show once. Hughley was not very good at the interview platform and one of his guest was divisive and offensive. It’s time americans come together around principles and values.
Please tell me who the right wing religious person was on the D.L.Hughley show on Sat. 3-7-09. He was teriffic. I think his first name was Francis.

Good!!!!! I hated that dang on show!!!! He’s not really that funny to begin with and to add on politics? It just didn’t work for him.
D.L was very down to earth years ago when he was touring with the Kings of Comedy. As a federal agent, I have escorted him through security several times and he is such a jerk and extremely arrogant. I wish his show would have worked out because he is smart obviously but lose the attitude brother!!!
RON is right!! Why do everything gotta revolve around race? Hugley aint even that funny and now we gotta see him as a puppet of da man on CNN cuz they wanna get more black viewers cuz Obama be president! That aint right! Just another trick to get us to do what the man want!

I very much admire D.L.’s wit & courage. I enjoy his program.
DL got of to a shaky start but turned the corner with the Micheal Steele interview that shook up the RepubliKKKan party. No one gave him credit for that not even his own colleagues at the CNN plantation.
I am very sorry to see an end to this show. I really enjoyed D. L and looked forward to seeing him on Saturday nights. I truly enjoyed his sense of humour and the way that he could add a humorous touch to the often too serious reporting of news events.D L,s approach was a breath of fresh air to CNN. I truly hope he does another show somewhere else in a similar way.
