Lil’ Wayne Says He’s Addicted To Codeine

March 3rd, 2008

Rapper’s handlers fear for his life
Lil’ Wayne says he indulges in the popular and dangerous southern practice of drinking Lil' Waynecough syrup to get a codeine high – and no one should expect him to quit. The recent death of Wayne’s fellow southern rhymer Pimp C was ruled an accident, due to codeine and a sleeping sickness. But Weezy says he doesn’t even want to hear the warnings. At a recent concert, Wayne vented: “Everybody wants me to stop all this and all that. It ain’t that easy. …You gotta learn how to stop, you gotta go through detox. You gotta do all kinds of stuff. Like I said, I’m a selfish-ass ni**a. I feel like everything I do is successful and productive. It’s gonna be hard to tell me I’m slipping… ‘This ni**a is making progress. He just went and talked to kids and that sh** was amazing.’ Feel me? So what am I doing wrong? Let me do me. Everybody’s got their thing. Why focus on me? Don’t compare me to no one. Don’t compare me to no one who has passed, and why they passed. I can walk out this b**ch right now and get hit by a bus. Don’t judge me. You wanna judge me? Put on a black gown and get a gavel. Get in line with the rest of them that’s about to judge me. I got court dates every other month.”

I think lil wayne should try and get some help. Stop putting the man down for what he does. Once your addicted it is hard to stop. I pray that you will try and seek help.

Its good that he’s being honest, but he said it himself. HE’S SELFISH! Which isn’t good when your a father. That needed to go out the door when you were told that you were having a child. You can’t be selfish and be a responsible, caring parent. I hope he realizes that QUICKLY!

Ignorance is surely bliss. I pray for him and all the other lost black souls who are wasting their talents and intellect. The same ones who are complaining about “the man”, are the exact ones who “the man” have to worry least about because they take care of themselves. Money can’t buy you common sense.

Yes,everybody has the right to do what they want and how they want. But when he decided he wanted to get in rap game, he became the just another one that’s always at the center of attention. Take for instance all the other who have left this earth at a early age. Their fans mourned as if they are some close family members. And most kids look up to them whether they, “want it or not”

So this fool wants to continue drinking his syrup, let him drink it,his spot in the cemetery is waiting for him.

He’s finally said in public what I’ve been saying all along. This man doesn’t make my mortgage payments. I don’t really listen to his music other than what’s on the radio or video. I don’t support him in any way. He has no bearing on my life what-so-ever. If he wishes to end up like those such as Jimmi Hendrix, go on! More power to ya! One less ignorant mofo on this planet!

No, we may not all agree with the stance that Wayne has taken on his addition to “sizzurp,” but I can respect him. I respect him because he was honest about his addiction and saying leave the decision up to him instead of saying “I know I’m wrong and I’m seeking help” if he had no intention of doing so. He didn’t tell the people what they wanted to hear. He told them how he honestly felt.

Too bad! Most addicts are in denial! Lil Wayne ain’t little anymore,he’s a man! If he cannot handle the trials of the industry without being high, get out and do something else! Only Jesus can save him,he’s drowning in the addiction! Its sad for a daughter to see her father love the drug more than being sober, and it hurts!Maybe prison will cure the addiction, maybe!

Well me being on the outside looking in to this mans life, he is a product of the enviroment from which he came. Now he said let me do me but he fells to see that it’s the kids that are hearing about him doing him and want to be like that. These stars today have more influence over the kids than the parents do.

He said that he is making progress even though he is on cough syrup? Well let me tell you this Lil Wayne, what you are is an commodity, and once you’re all used up by those people selling you then what? Once you are no longer the hot thing you’ll be out and the next will be in.

You better be careful before we see you in the next Nationwide Insurance commercial talking about when life comes at you fast….

The people that love you the most should be able to tell you that you are slippin and if you don’t get it together you will lose everything. And if they don’t have the balls to tell you let me be the first. Get it together my young black brother, when you were born into this world you came in with to strikes against you..1 your a man and 2 your a black man. You have people looking at you just because of the color of your skin and saying that you are going to be either a drug dealer, a convict or dead. That you are not destine to make it just because of your skin color. You are in a position to prove them wrong and yet you fall into the trap. Take control of your life and get it together. Once all the fame and money is gone then what????

It is truly a sad day when our young people can’t see beyond their next high. This guy is pathetic and has no clue about what he is doing to himself and the thousands of others who want to be like him. Sad, sad, sad…….

What’s ashame is not his addiction but how he is being judged due to his addiction. Weezy is human before he’s a “Star” and he makes mistakes just like me and you. No one knows his struggles or his journeys in life. Not even the man in the black gown can joudeg him, only sentence him. Instead of pointing fingers or placing judgment put him in your prays at night. If you don’t want your kids to be influenced monitor what you let them listen too.

Lil Wayne, “TRY GOD” and not the syrup! Syrup keeps you high for a little while and you then have to take more, God keeps you high for a lifetime without having to get a refill. Im praying for you that you’re not another statistic.

blackt Said on

What an idiot! It is a shame these kids listen to his music and look up to him.
