MC Breed Dead At Age 36

November 24th, 2008

MC Breed is dead at age 36. Months after he reportedly collapsed on a basketball court due to a kidney ailment, rapper MC Breed has died. The Flint, Mich. native who recorded with West Coast rap stars including Too Short and Tupac was hospitalized in September and placed on life support before recovering. It was reported that he was still in need of a transplant. Born Eric Breed, the rapper whose biggest hit was “Ain’t No Future in Yo Frontin’,” was found dead this past weekend at a friend’s home. He was 36.

I was born in flint michigan and when i came up all i heard was BREED and DFC. When i heard about his death i went back and listened to alot of tracks that he did. When coming up in flint there are not to many thing to look up to, and to see eric breed putting flint on the map in a positive light that made the youth so proud. Inspite of all the negative things that are being said about Breed from child support and what ever else. I am still proud to say i was and still will be a Breed fan.(im still bumping that breed and DFC) and (F.B.I. is a classic) (Flinttown for life) R.I.P. MC BREED

Being a Michigan native myself, I am very saddened to hear of MC Breed’s passing. He was an extremely talented young man who made the City of Flint and the rest of Michigan very proud. He will truly be missed not just by our state, but by the music industry as well. My heart and prayers go out to his family and friends. May you all find comfort and strength in the Lord. MC Breed was the first established rapper to come out of Flint, MI. There have been a number of entertainers who are Flint Stones, but Breed was the one who really connected with other well known artists like Tupac, Too Short, and most recently Jazze Pha. I am saddened to hear his passing, and I hope other rappers/singers from Flint will be inspired to get out and make their dreams come true. RIP….The cradle and the grave are just across from each other.

I was really sad to hear about MC Breed’s death at such a young age. I will always remember his music especially “I gotta get mine, you gotta get yours” with Tupac. That is still one of my favorite tunes. He will surely be missed and I am happy to say that my son had the pleasure of meeting him, I just wish I was able to meet him myself. The good do seem to die young. I send my condolences to his family and friends. May God Bless them and may he rest in peace!
