Why does it always have to be the race card pulled? they would have charged any other person for this same crime. Bottom line it was animal cruielty and thats against the law. It doesnt matter that vick was black! There are plenty of people of all ethnicities that get charged with this crime every day. HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD OF ANIMAL PLANET??? Ann no one is saying that they charged VIck simply because he is Black but what they are saying is that had he been a different skin color and not wealthy he would not have recieved such a harsh sentence, I have seen this over and over again when a white defendant is charged with the exact same thing as a black defendant the sentence is not the same meaning Afro Americans are treated differently in the justice system. My concern is not whether or not he should be charged and punished but that he should have been treate just like any other person. Yes I have seen Animal Planet many times and I also volunteer with an animal rescue group, and most of the dogs n specific we rescue from shelters, and we do this because most times that dogs that are not adopted will be euthanized or sold to science (for research purposes). And before you say blacks are using the “race card” try being black for one day and then you will know why they use the “race card”.

bOTTOM LINE…….vick got what he deserved and all people of all walks of life who can be so cruel to humans or animals should be punished to the max! Maybe people will think twice and make better decissions for themselves.I say no more animal research, we have other means and I say no more killing of people,children and animals. No more abuse and no more excuses.No more gassing of animals.All the forien countries free to torcher animals for one reason or another ,is sick. Compassion, where is it.Baby killers and abusers and there excuses.I say we eat too much meat for our own good and we wear unnessary fur,we have other ways to stay warm.To me all the abuse is nothing but excuses of humans.I just hope someone will stop all the pain to a hault or very close to it.If severe punishment is good for one it is good for all.

There is unnecessary abuse going on all over…. half across the world, in the next town, down the street from where you live, & in your back yard towards animals, children, and one another! Everyone has there causes and are voices for certain causes! Children and animals perhaps need louder voices to stand up for them because of all the sick freaks in the world that lack something inside of them! I think anyone who can torture, neglect, or watch something suffer w/ out trying to help the situation has serious issues!

I have to say that it hard to read some of these comments. Mike was wrong as wrong can get. He should have known better. He deserves everything that the law is dishing out to him. Instead of sponsoring these dog fights and making money or what ever he was doing with his homeboys, he should have been building a rec center of sponsoring some sort of program for jobless people. He was dead wrong! It is so funny how people are trying to argue the fact that HUNTING is the same as DOG FIGHTING. IT IS NOT PEOPLE! Vick and his boys had the dogs on chains. These animals did not have the will to run or be free or even try to survive. He had the poor animals on chains. He and his boys even sent VOLTS of ELECTRICITY through them if they did not perform well. Look like VICK is the animal. I hope he never throw a ball again as long as he lives.

Directed to Sam, if you find these comments hard to read then why bother reading them, and if you knew anything about Vick’s personal life outside of the dogfighting then you would know that he did build a recreation center, church, football camp for low income children. Now I am not saying that to suggest he was right, however this sentence does not fit the crime. Yeah he was dead wrong I agree with that,however when he serves is time he has a right to continue with his career and hopefully be a advocate for the rights of animals and support the fight against dogfighting. Michael Vick did create the sport of dogfighting, nor with him being locked up did dogfighting stop.
